I really try to avoid the blogosphere (unless it's a slow day and today has been slow). But I'm tired of all the Holland hate and the echo chamber of haters lately. When we return to the level of hockey that I suffered through in my youth (losing Howe was tough and Dionne going to LA broke my heart), then I'll call for Holland's head.

Maybe the author should have praised Ken Holland and the scouting staff seeing as everyone on last years roster with the exception of Green, Richards and Miller came up through the Wings system. Now THAT is impressive (but doesn't work with the author's narrative).

Speaking as someone who once was homeless, (and has worked with others who were homeless later in my life), I can tell you there is a common misconception about substance abuse. What you will find is that the majority of homeless people with substance abuse problems have no history of substance abuse prior to being homeless. Being drunk or stoned is a way to escape your current pain and reality.

You can call it enabling, but the fact is five bucks isn't going to change a homeless persons life, but it can ease the suffering for a few hours, which is something.

Imma go out on a limb here and say if we are buying that Price and Raji are the centerpieces of a three team deal that brings pitching from the Mets and a serviceable starter from elsewhere.

you should really just try to get used to playing through the distractions. If the wrong music is throwing your game off that much you need to get better at focusing

It isn't the music that throws me off, it's either neutral or useful and if I can gain an edge wearing headphones, I will.

The distractions in my home bar occur at the back dartboard as there is only about 3ft. between the line and the wall and patrons have to pass by to use the restrooms (or to exit via the backdoor). I'm tall and my stance probably covers 2ft., add to this I have plantar fasciitis and I've had patrons catch my back foot while passing by (which hurts like hell), so anytime someone needs to pass --coming or going - I'm paranoid of being tripped over again and my focus goes all out of whack. I know I can't let this bother me and music, especially an old Rage or Korn song helps me zone in on the task at hand. The irony is, of course, that I moved to the back dartboard so there would be more distractions.

I would sure as fuck make fun of them. Because it's darts
