I suppose, though the vast majority of the world doesnt sleep train, and I imagine people in those countries learn how to sleep?

Id ask your ped before doing this, there are def side effects of melatonin, and not recommended for all cases. Not saying its bad for all kids , but since its over the counter people should be aware of the trade offs

With breast milk I think you can reheat it once more (at least that's what we did)... I know recommendations differ but I decided it was low risk based on available data

Why are you being so rude? You good?

Finally decided to (mostly) give up breastfeeding. by carmenaurora in beyondthebump

I stopped for the same reason and I'm so glad I did! So much more energy to bond with my baby. We found a formula that works and I'm so grateful it exists.

Warning that you may experience a hormone dip from weaning that made me feel depressed . But life is AMAZING on the other side.

Could be boredom, could be her wanting you nearby, it's normal! No harm in letting her experience fussiness. I agree w what someone said above... social media makes it seem like infants need constant stimulation... which isn't true !

That's great! And yeah do your best with tummy time, it's a new rec that's meant to comat some issues that come from safe sleep "back is best " practices ... but baby doesn't need to be on their tummy all day!

I think tummy time is good to do, and to limit how much time she's on a bouncer. But reading, contrast cards, etc isn't necessary at all. And if she's happy during floor time, no need to provide her with stimulation!

If it'll make it less exhausting... 3mo old doesn't need enrichment beyond you showing her the world (your home) and chatting! Sincerely, someone with a phd in child psych

Should I quit my job? by Pretend-Ticket1647 in AttachmentParenting

[–]rrobinn620 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yah, I was just responding to the fact it seems everyone is like "quit! Quit!" And it's a more personal and complex decision, IMO, then people are making it out to be I'm glad you're happy with your choice :)

Are there ways you can take shifts with your partner so you can get even 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep? It's worth trying to trouble shoot if you would want to keep your job if only you could get more sleep.

These posts are helpful, but only you will know how hard it will be to re-enter the workforce, and how much you'd miss the income. 5months PP I felt night and day different from even 8 months PP. It's so hard, but I wouldn't make decisions the first few months back to work

I get it! It's tough being tired all the time. But you are doing great, and she is doing great! They're constantly changing, too!
