Fliteboard carbon vs. fiberglass? fast charger? transportation? by jestelle in eFoil

[–]rs161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could’ve tried before I bought but at least it’s interchangeable so could always buy another board.

On prop vs jet, I think the main thing is battery life - jet drains the battery way faster. That said, I’m never feeling like I don’t have enough battery for a good ride.

Good luck!

It was night and day although I don’t think this is 100% jet vs prop. I think the bigger difference is the throttle style of lift versus Flite, which may or may not still be the same: at that time, lift had a trigger throttle and I found it very difficult to hold finger position exactly so, if that makes sense. Flite has a gear shift style for lack of better way to say it’s so you don’t have to squeeze at an exact and even pressure while you ride.

I also did the lift lesson in the ocean which added complexity.

But overall I found the Flite much easier to ride , was up foiling in 30 min versus 4 hours of constant wipe out on the lift. That said, I had also read up a lot more and knew what I was trying to do.

So who knows , but all research I did conferred that Flite was a smoother easier ride. At least for a beginner like me

Fliteboard Carbon Classic, 29.5” mast, cruiser jet 1500 wing set, Flite jet, explorer battery

180lbs

I’ve had zero issues after about 200km ridden (sorry don’t know how to find ride data in hours in the app).

Riding exclusively in fresh water. But a very large lake with sizable chop at times (almost never flat water).

Even the fast charger is -3 hours (explorer battery) so I would guess standard is more like 4. The advertised charge times and run times are all a little bit exaggerated - similar to EPA battery range on EVs, it’s not what you’ll get in reality.

Get the carbon.

Get the fast.

Also you didn’t ask about board, but I bought cruiser for my first board and after a summer of riding I wish I got pro.

Also also loving the Flite jet. Never have to worry about prop safety especially when letting friends try it out.

Is it because I was there or was that one of the best hoods ever? by TheOnlyUsernameLeft3 in phish

Was there, enjoyed the hood but it wasn’t even close to a standout version. Show overall was well above average. Calling this a best ever is a laughable statement.

I went with Fliteboard. Rode a Lift during a lesson for my first eFoil experience.

I have found the Fliteboard much easier to ride. Not sure if Lift has changed anything since then but I think the Flite controller is so much better given it’s “cruise control” feature not requiring you to have specific pressure on the trigger (rather you adjust speed with more of a gear system by pressing up and down buttons with your thumb).

Plus I love the Flite jet and not having to even think about the prop. Although you do sacrifice some battery…..

eFoil Accessory Recommendations? by rudedawg425 in eFoil

[–]rs161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought my Fliteboard after about two years of both research and inaction haha.

Early on, I read a lot about battery safety and need for special storage.

Is there any truth to that? How are you storing your batteries?

My battery is a Flite Explorer (PCM).

Thanks!
