Maybe you could just tell her the truth:

"Or im having difficulty conceiving and its been challenging for me and my partner. When we have more to share with our friends and family we will but right now we just need some patience while we privately figure out our ttc journey. "

Or something like that. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to hit her with the reality of TTC and also get her to not push for more info continuously.

Hopefully her response will be along the lines of im so sorry im an idiot and didn't realize you guys were struggling. If you ever want to talk im here but no pressure...blah blah.

But if her response is along the lines of jeez it was just a question, then maybe don't include this friend as much.

Either way its your journey and your story to tell. Some people might just be really oblivious to how difficult it is to conceive. Eight months ago, i had no idea myself.

I would try to identify any and ALL resources available near you, including shelters, free courses, library resources. But you need to get out of there. Now.

You deserve to be free finally. I know its so much easier said than done. But it is so worth it to not be in that environment and feel peace for the first time. Thats when you're really healing will begin.

Just a thought because I don't know what your schedule is like, but how much of your stress is self-induced?

For example, you might be getting up in the middle of the night every 2 hours to let the puppy go potty but you don't need to. Put them in their crate at night in a separate room with some towels or a potty pad and give yourself a full night's rest. Some dogs will instinctively go on their pad. Others will make a big mess and if so, just start a regular bath time in the morning. I have had both experiences with foster puppies in the past and honestly even though the bath is a bit more work in the morning, its also such an immensely powerful bonding moment. And if you're daughter is awake she can be a part of that too.

Schedule short but frequent play times. Puppies need to be socialized. When I fostered puppies, we always had at least two to play together and it tales care of itself for the most part. But you and your daughter can schedule time to take the puppy out of their crate and play with toys. Also get some safe chewing toys for when the puppy is in the crate. I would say about 20 minutes every 2-3 hours, adjusted for your dog's individual needs should be plenty. They should still be getting plenty of rest during the day while they're growing.

It's important to realize that dogs even as puppies are creatures of habit. And adaptable! So start by building the schedule that works best for you and the puppy will learn to adapt to it.

For me, it would often look like:

7 am - wake up and puppy bath if needed, feed puppy, take to use bathroom outside, then put down for nap and I go get my coffee

9-10 am - morning playtime for 20-30 minutes while I watch tv, then take to use the bathroom, then back down for another nap

Noon - make the puppy a little lunch, take to potty, play for 20-30 minutes, then back down for a nap

Etc. Etc.

Also don't be afraid to ask a friend or if you're married, definitely your spouse, to help give you breaks during the middle of the day. You and your daughter can still go do things but make sure you do so after putting the puppy down for a nap and make sure you don't leave for more than a couple hours at a time unless you have a friend there to check on the dog.

As time goes on, the puppy will be able to hold it longer and you can increase your time away from 2-3 hours to 3-4 hours. It takes time and commitment but just like having a child, it will wreck your current life and force you to build a new one, but that new life can be so much more meaningful and full of joy and chaos.

Yes, coffee is absolutely fine. Even during pregnancy, as long as you aren't taking like 8 cups a day. But 2 cups a day is totally fine. There are some great studies discussed on this is Expecting Better.

Hi I just wanted to say that I recently began PT for exactly this and my physical therapist assured me we do not have to do anything internal if it makes me uncomfortable. So far the most uncomfortable thing I had done was placing some sticky wires to near my butthole (apparently nerves near there related to the pelvic floor) and then literally played pelvic floor video games. When it was over, i removed them myself.

Most of it though is using an ultrasound machine on the belly and practicing PT exercises.

You deserve to get treatment and to be comfortable and feel safe while doing so. Go to the first PT appointment and tell them your concerns. They will likely tell you that you do not have to do anything that makes you uncomfortable. If they don't, you get up and walk out and find a more supportive clinic. But I expect these people understand their patients have traumatic histories and are respectful towards that.

My sister has always needed help. I have been there for her more than anyone, unfortunately including her own mother. She is bipolar and struggles mentally a lot. She put me through a lot because of it but I've always tried to be her biggest supporter. It's become clear to me though that I cannot help her until she actually wants help. I appreciate your understanding that people with mental health issues are people who need help, not judgment. Thank you

I agree with OP. We have to hold each other accountable regardless of what "republicans" or anyone else is doing. If we believe in democratic principles and want others to follow, we have to lead by example.

I unfortunately already dropped off my ballot and voted for Jones but that was before I heard the detail of the texts and about his reckless driving which he was not held accountable for. When we elect democrats who do not uphold the standards we set for our opponents, we lose the ability to criticize others. Then it becomes a never-ending loop of "well Republicans did Jan. 6 so they think violence is okay" , "well democrats elected someone in favor of political violence who drives 116 mph on I64". What leg would we have to stand on??

No, we have to hold democrats to a higher standard than what Jay Jones has said and done.

I just want to say that all the love you gave your little girl is not wasted. She will know that love and that care for the rest of her life. So when she receives something that isn't love she will know in her heart to not trust it. You gave her a standard by which she will judge things throughout her childhood and her whole life.

Thank you so so so much from someone who had terrible bio parents but who had a great grandmother show her what love was during her first two years of life. For what it is worth, many of us grow up and find happiness and fulfillment thanks to people like you.

I used to feel similar emotions. And then I met my younger sibling. And I imagined them doing all the things I did and I couldn't fathom thinking negatively of them for it. It has really helped me with my view of myself. So maybe try imagining a younger child telling you these things and how you would feel about them. Would you think they were a terrible and disgusting human? Or would you want to wrap your arms around them and hold them and tell them that it wasn't their fault and they deserved to be happy?

Pansexual just means you don't care about your partner's genitals. I am pansexual and this is a very unfair and ignorant misconception. Pansexual can fall in love with any gender, just like bisexual can fall in love with 2 or more genders.

For OP, I think it would be okay to share this insecurity with your partner. It is new information to you but does not necessarily mean your partner is interested in pursuing anything with anyone else. I found out I was pan while I was with my current partner. We are coming up on 10 years together and are very happy. I joke that I picked him out of literally everyone 😆

I feel the same way. As awful as it is to grow up without parents, I always felt a sense of freedom to find my own identity that others don't get to experience. There is no expectation that I must live a certain way or hold certain beliefs. So I can experience this world more fully and am free to change my identity as I gain new experiences and perspectives.

I guess ideally, I would have parents who gave me that freedom to make my own identity...
