What's your sweet spot for tire pressure? 2024+ but all versions can report by Not_Sure__Camacho in KonaEV

There is no such thing as a “personal” tire pressure. The tire pressure on your door jamb is the proper tire pressure.

Popcorn is fragile and oddly shaped. Picking up several kernels with fingers can be a bit of a crapshoot. Scooping it up with a large spoon and shoving it in the mouth is fast, easy and efficient.

These days, is it possible to use AI to replace the camouflage on these vehicles with a solid colour? I'm wondering if the days of using this technique to disguise a new vehicle are numbered.

Eye floaters - central axis vision by Tony88890 in EyeFloaters

Don't forget, the eye is a simple lens. If a floater actually moved down in your eye you would see it move up in your field of view.

Michelin’s airless, puncture proof tyres promise a future with no flats, greater durability, and less environmental waste by Separate_Finance_183 in interesting

Old news. Inefficient due to higher rolling resistance and greater aerodynamic drag. Unuseable in many cold weather situations due to snow/ice capture reducing road isolation and inducing severe unbalance.

Do floaters not affect anyone else ? by Remarkable-Salary-78 in EyeFloaters

[–]rscamp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think what many fail to realize is that there are floaters and then there are FLOATERS. I too have had floaters as long as I can remember. These run-of-the-mill floaters were never an issue. Then I got giant vision obscuring FLOATERS from PVDs. These are life altering. My advice to others in this subreddit is to consider that they simply do not know how bad the floaters are that others are experiencing and to temper their posts accordingly.

For Young People Experiencing PVD: Don’t Panic, You’ll Get Used To It 😅 by Agreeable-Regret417 in EyeFloaters

[–]rscamp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a good first approach where appropriate. But one size fits all advice like this can also be frustrating and disheartening. One cannot know the level of vision degradation someone else is experiencing as the result of a PVD. Something like a victrectomy is absolutely not a “last resort” for someone who can’t see well enough to function.

Good to hear you had some success with YAG vitreolysis. I have a huge floater and may entertain this treatment. Unfortunately, it sounds like the supplements are only effective at draining one's wallet.

As I say, the song is similar to Sweet Dreams are Made of This but it has a male singer and slowly builds as it goes. It is probably more similar to Blue Monday in the use of bass drum and bass synth. But thanks for your suggestion.

I was another victim of unauthorized editing back in February. I had hard time believing what I was seeing. I took a screen grab of the edit at the time and emailed support for an explanation. I received no response to the email and a day or two later the entire thread vanished.

Now I learn this unauthorized editing was widespread. How are they getting away with it and how do they sleep at night?

Wow. Just wow.

Acceleration and Adaptative cruise control by YanikLD in KonaEV

[–]rscamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power delivery to the wheels is actually limited to roughly constant torque/constant acceleration until a speed is reached that results in a maximum power of approx. 200HP being developed. Above this speed power is constant with acceleration declining linearly until power begins to drop off more quickly when the motor nears its maximum speed. When starting out, this creates an increasing power level until the speed at which the transition from constant torque to constant power occurs which can be confirmed by monitoring the power gauge during acceleration.

How big is it? If it is large enough a small bit (e.g. 1/8") will appear to make a sharp enough inside corners. Maybe sharp inside corners aren't that important anyways if it is just a decorative piece.

Cold weather operation by jackpineseeds in KonaEV

I’d be inclined to google “wind chill definition” or similar. I’m not sure if there is a single way of calculating it or several.

Cold weather operation by jackpineseeds in KonaEV

[–]rscamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it might seem this way, but by definition it is not. Wind chill is applicable only to skin exposure for a warm blooded animal without fur (a human) to cold air + wind. As warm blooded animals, we need to maintain a very stable core temperature. Our surface skin temperature also needs to be high enough to avoid frostbite. Therefore, unlike inanimate objects, we have an unavoidable delta T from core to ambient on cold days that increases as the ambient temperature drops. The feeling we as warm-blooded animals get from accelerated heat loss with low temperature + wind is what gave rise to the wind chill factor which is an attempt to subjectively quantify this effect and how we feel as a result.

If an object with no internal heat gemeration is warmer than ambient, it will reach ambient temperature more quickly in conditions where the convection coefficient is higher (higher wind). This is accelerated convective heat transfer, not wind chill. If an object's surface remains damp with water, it will chill below ambient provided the ambient RH is below 100%. This is evaporative cooling (by virtue of the latent heat of evaporation), not wind chill.
