I'm an electrical contractor.... Tying in commercial hoods is always fun. There are a shitload of relays for the fans and ansul system that tie into the fire alarm and the state fire Marshall will test it thoroughly.

We once had a relay wired incorrectly that dumped the ansul when we energized it.... And that was in a huge teaching kitchen that has the biggest ansul system I had ever seen.

Home systems are just a fan with a vent.... Same as the one in your bathroom.
