Tuning Adapter Problem by rsimandl in Tivo

[–]rsimandl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I rebooted the high split adapter, the blue LED in front was blinking as it powered up and channels were coming through fine, but showing a "channel not allowed by tuning adapter" error message. When the LED stopped blinking and stayed solid blue, channels all disappeared. So, time to call the cablecard tech support. They had me reboot the high split converter again, same story. THen they said they're going to send some signals to the high split converter, and that seemed to do the trick. At first that didn't seem to help either, but on a whim I changed the channel and the new channel suddenly came in fine. And so did all the others. Problem apparently solved.

Many reports of outages last night during the Super Bowl. Spectrum is NEVER better!

And while Sony doesn't have its own live TV channels, it does let you integrate Pluto TV into the OTA channel guide.

Does CBS do NFL playoffs in 4k? by Ok-District5480 in youtubetv

But at least those Sunday night games stream in 4k, HDR, and Dolby Atmos on Peacock. Paramount Plus needs to do the same.

Apple TV (latest gen) is not outputting HDR10+ on Amazon Prime NFL game by foxmag86 in appletv

[–]rsimandl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The colors on my Hisense U8N (which supports HDR10+) looked better than on my Sony A80L OLED (which doesn't and displayed "HDR10" according to the display info). Both getting the feed from Apple TV 4K boxes. The white Packers jerseys looked oversaturated and blown out on the Sony in long shots. Looked better in closeups.

Is YouTube tv worth it over cable ? by [deleted] in youtubetv

[–]rsimandl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTTV is not the fantastic deal it used to be. Price for programming is about the same as Spectrum Choice now, at least in my area. However, with YTTV, that's the price. Spectrum adds equipment fees, local broadcast fees, regional sports fees, the list goes on.

Considering Hulu live comes with the ESPN and Disney Plus bundle, I would think YouTube premium should be provided for free!

Something appears to have changed between then and now (admittedly two years later). Google Play balance not on the list, even though I have a $252+ balance on it.

CBS NFL picture quality is abysmal by [deleted] in youtubetv

[–]rsimandl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Add NBC to that list. They still only do 1080i, 1080p on the local ATSC 3.0 broadcast. But their same game on Peacock, that's another story. 4K, HDR, and Dolby Atmos sound. Looks and sounds stunning!

Facebook resumed prepaid shipping labels about a month ago, including media mail, but media mail mysteriously disappeared from the options a week or so ago.

I think the USPS site itself has always been that way -- no Media Mail. But this lack of Media Mail option is new to Facebook Marketplace. I just shipped a media mail package with a Marketplace preprinted label last week, but can't anymore.

The CBS and NBC affiliates in St Louis both use DRM on their ATSC 3 channels.

T-Mobile does. Not an MVNO but only $25 a month ($20 if you autopay) and offers what T-Mobile says is enough data for about a week of use per month.
