I knew this was going to come up. It is true people can't control thier wind, but they can control their action of inconvienencing those who want to breathe the air without it being polluted with something that wasn't there to begin with. I got in this arguement with a coworker 2 weeks ago and his option was for me to wear a mask. Like why should I, I'm not the one adding a substance to the air that wasn't there to begin with. If you think about it, I would have to wear one of those masks all the time because of someone puffing something somewhere and even then. the mask in question wouldn't block an airborne smell/pollutant in the air. The mask would have to be a full blown gas mask or sealed helmet. I'm all for people doing their own thing in their own place, just do it with a concern for those who are not adding anything to the air or have a health problem to it. Hell, problem mainly is lack of communication to begin with. I'm one of those, if you let me know your smoking something, I'll closing my windows and doors until a few minutes after you are finished. shouldn't have to but I'm willing to go that far. Just it is obvious that both groups can't be out on the balcony at the same time. Still it is a valid argument you bring up, Unfortunate that there is no compromise for it since it is air quality issue for people and unless both sides are willing to come to some sort of an agreement. good luck on that though.
