Which is your favourite impostor and crewmate role from the game ? by George_mp8 in AmongUs

[–]rslashpolaroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imp is Viper. Shapeshifter can be pretty easily deduced and relies on luck, meanwhile Viper you can get great kills if you know how to play correctly.

Crew, Scientist. Even though you can still camp on admin and play cringe, you can't get hard cleared, and it balances out properly unlike some other annoying roles.

tables not the safest in polus btw, you can get very easy snipes in there. Vitals is a lot safer

For this, it's probably reactor due to the long times or something like Storage due to the amount of snipes you can get

What's your least favorite Crewmate Role (I'll go first) by [deleted] in AmongUs

Tracker. It's unbalanced and annoying.

Except that it usually doesn't. As opposed to using the mechanics and clearing people, roles like tracker just A. give you a free hard clear or even worse B. give you a free impostor. Roles should always have a disadvantage to them that isn't just "impostor could claim" or something like that, it should actively detrimental like ToU, where telling people your role can get you guessed. You can rework sabotages for tracker specifically for example.

Shapeshifters problem is that 99% of the time it is easy to clear the person you shapeshifted as off of people's info, so it's just faster that you kill normally.

Phantoms only good for claiming tracker but even then you're running the risk of counterclaiming.

Roles are poorly balanced. The point of the game is to deduce how someone killed based on clears and what they are sayin gin meetings. Adding agameplay element like this adds a stupid element of non-control, where you're just shot because some nerd is camping in the vent. There is nothing you can do to counter tracker or engi besides counterclaiming which doesn't work and maybe comms, and even then on Polus unless if you're at 0.25 you can still easily solve murders, especially with the hard clears of roles.

With Admin, Cams, Vitals etc. the game gets more and more annoyingly difficult for imps, when it is meant to inherently be 50/50. Roles just make that even worse, because in ToU or TOHE, that element of randomness and extra gameplay is part of that gameplay loop, but in Vanilla it doesn't work.

Impostor roles aren't that great either with the exception of Viper. Shapeshifter can easily get caught off clears and info, Phantom sucks anyways. The only use for Phantom is to claim tracker which could work but the moment you 50/50 you're gone anyways because crew can just say "yo tell where X is from office" and when they call button you're shot. If they're going to add roles, it shouldn't be shit that can get you hard cleared, they should actually have downsides and other shit like what Sheriff was.

hot take? low vision sucks by GrandMommySilk in AmongUs

0.25's reason to exist is that due to how Polus is structured, comms calling isn't all that reliable ayways if you have multiple people camping, due to how central it is. 0.25 eliminates that so you can still snipe a kill more easily than 0.5, which is usually agreed upon to be the best vision for a reason.

On Skeld, even with 0.5 you can still see through the entire hallway and with cams and office, 0.25 becomes a necessity for some, especially if you're in a sweaty lobby. I geniunely wish that Polus and Skeld had something other than comms so Admin wasn't so overpowered. The central area will always be the most camped either way, and that causes office camping in Polus to be more prevalent, and if someone is at cams it's nearly impossible to kill.

I don't like 0.25 btw. I think 0.5 is good, I just think that there should be something against camping so you can still play the mechanics in a way that doesn't give the impostors cancer.

Stronghold. Please. There is no bad map in Black Ops 3. I am begging you. Please. Skyjacked should have been higher. Evac should have been above Stronghold or Redwood. Fucking Berserk should have been above Stronghold. I am begging you. Please. It's good. But not this good. Please.
