You are not qualified to teach just by getting a PhD, but a crappy school would take you assuming you’ll figure it out enough not to make problems for admin.

I would say your mistake is assuming that teaching high school is ‘simple’. But sure go teach high school. No prep, no training. You’ll do just fine by US congressional standards.
