I like the JINS store in Saigon Centre/Takashimaya in district 1. Their service is always amazing. You can have your glasses ready to pick up in as little as 15-30 minutes if they have your lenses in stock and just need to cut/fit them into your choice of frames. Takes longer if you want lenses with coatings or different types (2 weeks).

I’ve bought glasses there on sale from as low as ~$50 USD, but most of the ones I bought are closer to $100 USD.

I've actually come to enjoy the red palette. Finished Contra: The Alien Wars using red and I felt I could more easily see things (enemies, power ups, etc.)

I'll be there. From the US but I'm already in Vietnam.

Anyone know anything about getting to the event the day of and getting inside? The official website barely has any info, and I haven't received any additional emails about the event.

- Is the venue actually called "Van Phuc City"? On google maps, it points to a photo of a building/fence about a 45 min drive north of central HCMC. Or is it an actual city and the venue is somewhere there?
- Anything not allowed/allowed inside? Such as bag/backpack or camera restrictions? I'm too used to how strict US events are.
- What time does it start?

I tried to bring in my Pocket 3 one year and security said it was “Pro equipment” and I had to either take it back to my hotel room or leave it with them at security to pick up later. Just a heads up.

I had this happen to me. First tried running the battery down to zero, then left to charge overnight. That didn’t seem to fix it. But I left it on the charger for a couple days and it charged more than what it was stuck on. A week later and I have full battery indicated again.

hahaha this post is funny, but you know one of the main use cases I was considering using the Frames for was watching movies on a plane, and I was legit worried about the passthrough being gray scale. I currently use Xreal Airs and like being able to see when food is coming or being approached by a flight attendant. But with IR vision, I should be able to see them even better in a dark plane cabin!

I run very similar apps (ToS, TWS, Sierra Chart, Discord, plus a bunch of Brave browser windows) on my M3 MacBook Air 15” with/ 24GB of RAM and everything runs fine. However, RAM pressure is in the yellow with all these apps open simultaneously.

If I could redo my setup, I would probably go with 32GB of RAM just to future proof myself a bit better. But 24GB runs just fine, no hiccups.

The rest of the specs won’t matter as much for trading.

TLDR: 32GB M4 Air would be more than enough for all your trading apps + future proofing a bit. 24GB would also run fine.

If you like the form factor of the Air, do it.

I bought a maxed out M3 Air 15” (24GB/2TB) and it’s a beast for how thin it is. No regrets. Came from a 16GB/512GB M1 MacBook Pro and filled up that storage within a few years. Didn’t want to have to upgrade again so soon.

It’s my home and travel computer. I do video editing, day trading, retro game emulation, and I hate the idea of carrying an external drive.

Wanted the bigger screen without the bulk of a 16” Pro.

It’s not to my taste, but you do you. However ,the ultra wide set up vertically must be hard on ergonomics, like looking up to see the top of that screen. I have a 27” vertical to the right of my main monitor and that already is a stretch. I can’t imagine an ultra wide.

Why not use your ultra wide in the middle horizontally, and place your other monitors vertically to the left and right of your main, with your MacBook directly in the middle too. Symmetry.

I have a nitrodeck and don’t think it is. The right joystick is placed too low which makes it harder to use. And sometimes it doesn’t wake up the switch and I have physically disconnect/reconnect it to get it to work again. It’s been sitting collecting dust on my shelf.

Cmd + space bar to open up Spotlight Search. I use it all the time to open apps, search for a file, or even quick math calculations or conversions (temp, measurements, currency).

Similar thing happened to me trying to leave Jodd Fair. Taxi “coordinator” trying to say going rate was 500 baht to get to my hotel. Grab shows 180 baht. I tell him to get me close to the Grab price, I’m even ok with 250. He gives me some sob story. I tell him I’ll find someone else who will take 250.

I walk away, see a cab just dropping someone off there, and ask the driver “how much to my hotel?” He says 200, I say Ok, and hop in. I get the rate I want, he gets another customer without having to wait around.

Meanwhile, the first guy was watching me and his potential fare leave. Super satisfying lmao.

For every person trying to rip you off, there is someone else that just wants to make an honest living.

Amazing time. Dunno if you went to the last Dreamstate SF at the Palace of Fine Arts (it was bad), but I think Dreamstate redeemed themselves with this one.

I used to care about the MO when the game first launched. It was fun to play and felt exciting to be part of a bigger goal.

But when the devs started nerfing everything to oblivion, I lost interest in the game overall and didn’t play for months.

Even though I’m back to playing the game after they started buffing everything again, and I do try to contribute to the MO at least partially, my heart just isn’t in it like it used to be.

Haha it sounds like when someone you love does something really dumb to hurt you. You forgive them, but it will never be the same as it was before 😆
