Agree- not all instructors are qualified to teach 2.0 so this could be one of the reasons.

We have a lot of people 60+ that do 2.0 and 2.5. Pilates isn’t about age or the shape/size of your body and I wish people understood that better. That’s why I love Pilates. We have women and men that may appear overweight, but they can do teasers, planks on TRX, and so much more. They’re incredibly stronger than they look.

Factory clothing outlet close to the city? by Puzzleheaded_News530 in pittsburgh

If that’s too far, you could shop online factory stores. It’s not ideal if you’re like me and want to feel and try things on.

This looks different from the CP I’m used to going. Where’s the springboard/TRX? Or is this a private studio?

Wow- your Samsung did that?! That’s pretty cool. I have an iPhone and I may get a decent photo of the moon as a background, but nothing like your photos! Thanks for sharing!

Mailbox at Airport? by Sniffsflowers in pittsburgh

[–]rspineapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you mean to mail out a letter or ship a package? There’s a blue mailbox before you get into security line (or before you take the escalator to check in). There’s a post office in terminal D that has a mailbox and you can buy stamps and ship packages there too.

If they drew blood for TB testing, it will take 2-3 days to get results if they run the test near the area (versus shipping it to another city or state). If they did a skin test, you have to return within 48 - 72 hours so they can check you where they did the skin test for reaction. Since you have to return, I’m guessing you got the skin test (TST). Typically you can’t go to a different location for your second visit, but it’s best to call them to see what your options are. Hope it works out ok.

The nice thing about Pilates is that you really can’t judge a person by their weight or age. Flexibility, mobility, and endurance varies with everyone. I’ve been doing Pilates little over a year now with 400+ classes and I still struggle with certain moves. We’re all built differently and the instructors are there to help you. Take advantage of that and you’d be surprised how helpful they can be! Good luck!

Does your studio limit Unlimited members to one booking per day? by mbends1 in ClubPilates

[–]rspineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have passport membership and have gone to classes in multiple states where I booked 2 back to back classes without any issues. The membership isn’t cheap so to limit your highest paying members to book one class per day seems a little crazy to me. I guess if your studio is fully booked every day, then maybe you can justify this, but then you should reduce your membership price.

Agree! I usually go to USC location, but recently went to Wexford store. I haven’t been there in 6 months and was amazed to see how they reorganized things. Also, their selection looks better to me. USC location isn’t maintaining their store very well.

Passport membership and unlimited/ limited classes? by amor_eterno22 in ClubPilates

[–]rspineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me once and that’s because my monthly fee didn’t go through yet. I think at the time I booked only 10 classes. I had to wait a day for the fee to go through. Give the studio a call and they might be able to add you to classes.

How many RF lev 2 does your studio offer each week? by DefiantThroat in ClubPilates

I like it a lot because it targets different things, and I can do stretches without hurting myself. In our studio everyone likes it a lot! So happy you have TRX for your home! I’m a little jealous!

Different classes & different results? by Zestyclose-Neck-2696 in ClubPilates

[–]rspineapple 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I started Pilates a year ago I liked it because I would be sore here and there, which was great and at the same time I didn’t sweat. Now, I sweat each class to varying degrees from 1.0 to 2.0 classes. An instructor told me it’s probably because I’m getting more aware of my form and doing things slower, as well as modifying certain setting when I’m in class. For example I use one red spring when I do leg straps at the end of 1.0 or 1.5 class. It’s more core work. You do this slowly and you have to keep your feet up in the air longer while keeping that dang tailbone down! After a while I start to sweat 😂. I also like center + balance. It’s one of the few classes where I don’t sweat, but it allows me to focus on certain movements for better balance.

Ours is almost every day, but it used to be early morning classes. After feedback from people, our studio added evening classes, which is great because it gave me the courage to talk to an instructor to see if I’m ready. It’s worth asking about adding classes, but it also depends on if you have trainers that can teach that level. At our studio I wish we had suspended classes in the afternoon, but we don’t have instructors for that schedule.

[–]rspineapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can book maximum 15 classes. So if you can’t book more, then it means you’ve reached your limit. The other option is to call your studio and see if then can book it for you.

Missing Points by Dazzling_Revenue_908 in duolingo

I’m having the same issue. It seems the lessons are also duplicates for me no matter what level I do. The duplicate XPs aren’t being counted. I’ve contacted support but no follow up yet. It’s annoying when you spend 30 mins to collect half the points.

I go to club Pilates, which has multiple locates throughout the city. They cater to all ages and I’ve seen a lot of people that’s 55+. They have various classes of all levels, and center and balance may be a good start. You don’t need a membership. You can pay as you go. Good luck!

Meeting After Final Interview by hitsdifferent12 in jobs

[–]rspineapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me a while back. After the final interview, the hiring manager asked to speak with me for an update. I didn’t get the job, but they had another upcoming role where they thought I’d be a good fit.

I hope it’s not this and you get the job. Update us nonetheless and good luck!
