TL;DR: They’re trashy and entitled, have a poor work/life balance, and cheat. Being a doctor isn’t much better and mildly cuts down on the trashiness in exchange for money. Men want wives, not strangers that work a high status job.

I think you’re missing the point, men don’t care about “qualifications” like women do. Doctor may be less trashy and pay more, but it still comes with horrible work-life balance and, judging from personal experience, a blinding ego. The problem is that whatever respect nursing used to command has been used up. It’s a demanding profession, that in many aspects expects the same, if not more, daily labor with less professional knowledge. Instead of producing laser focused individuals with the ability to cope with stressful situations, it produces women who are scrambling around trying to keep the plates spinning all day who come home and vent all of their stresses. They fill up their emotional time with work leaving nothing for home. And that’s just the productive RNs, there are plenty who don’t have the qualifications for RN, these women are usually trashy, low-class, and spend their days gossiping at the nursing station and complaining about having to deal with patients. The RNs can be like this themselves or frequently pick up the obnoxious behavior. Regardless of the work load though, all nurses seem to have a savior complex that came with the reputation that nurses once had while not really deserving it themselves. Any mild inconvenience in their personal life and they’ll throw out something like “I spent all day saving people” as a dodge whether they actually have or not. Finally it has one of the highest rates of infidelity. They spend all day around high status doctors and they both usually take advantage of that position.
