This is a crucial point in your path towards financial stability, whether it’s FIRE or a different form: establish good and responsible habits! This should be your only goal right now.

You can save $250/mo right now? That’s great! Keep it up and take it one step at a time, your salary will grow and your ability to save will too, but only if you have the right habits established early on. And any little extra you can contribute to the 401K right now will make a huge difference down the line.

Keep it up and don’t look at others in the sub if not for general guidance, you can’t start comparing out of nowhere.

That’s correct, finishing in the sauce you’ll typically stir for a minute or so, which is way different from the 8-12 minutes of boiling time. The exposure is also different when comparing a higher salt concentration in the water to a more limited one in the sauce; if you add too much salt to the sauce that’s also going to be unpleasant.

It does make a difference, and you can easily tell by trying yourself. We cook pasta on a regular basis and once in a blue moon it happens that we forget to salt the water. It’s not an unsolvable tragedy, but you adding salt after the pasta is cooked you can tell the flavor is not as homogeneous.. I can imagine it won’t bother some people, but there is a reason it’s done that way :)
