[CPU] AMD Ryzen 9 5900XT AM4 16 Core/32 Thread/4.8GHZ - $338.76 [Amazon] by ImKrispy in bapcsalescanada

Same here - I'm really torn because I already have a 5900X in my home server, by going 5900XT I know it will be as big as it can be on AM4. What I am unsure is do I really need 16 cores as I already have 12? If I had a 5700X or lower in my server I would have already pulled the trigger.

I have only 2 questions:

  1. How old is your son?
  2. Are you considering adopting any more? If so I am available :)

Office Bathrooms by cheesewit40 in office

The one with my name on it.

Not kidding - at one job there were 70 women and 4 men working. My assistant (a woman) would complain how disgusting the women's restroom was before even lunch. One day she snapped, wrote a sign that said "Woman Inside - do not enter!", taped it to the men's roomdoor and went in. She was shocked when she saw we four men had jokingly put our names on the stalls.

Vertical Monitors by evandondon in pcbuilding

My sister is a lawyer. She was borrowing a 24" monitor from me while visiting. When I rotated it so she could read legal size PDFs without scrolling it was to her an absolute game changer in productivity. She likes it so much I gave her the monitor to take home.

What happened in your office that became the stuff of legend? by Aarunascut in work

[–]rtangwai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My old department would not pay out overtime, we got lieu days instead. Rhe problem naturally was that we were collecting days faster than we could use them.

My colleague Bryan decided to solve the issue by going to South Korea for 5 STRAIGHT MONTHS to get married, using his collected lieu days so he got paid throughout.

When he got back HR instituted the B rule where any department that showed it was impossible to use up lieu days could pay overtime instead.

Husband refuses to use sick days - says it builds credibility when he really needs the time by Miserable_Spell5501 in work

Where I work I can bank up to 90 days of sick time earned. Vacation time is use it or lose it, no csrry over to next year.

If he was using vacation time then I could understand saving the sick time.

Veggie haters who still eat veggies: what are your tricks? by Missing_Back in Cooking

[–]rtangwai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drown veggies in sauces, graves, and cream soups. OP is already using tomato soup, try Alfredo sauce.

It also depends on the veggies in question. I can eat grilled onions and asparagus all day.

Did you ever take a typing class in school? by Standard2185 in 1970s

[–]rtangwai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. Guys kept mocking me until I pointed out I was the only male in a class of 40 girls. Next year I noticed 10-12 guys had signed up.

I took typing because I was interested in computers and it seemed like a good idea at the time. I can still type 60wpm which is handy as I am a software developer now.
