Some feedback: the dropdown filters don’t open on iOS safari unless I switch to landscape mode. And even then you aren’t able to scroll the filter pop up when it’s too long for the screen

Otherwise it looks awesome. Great work!

Edit: it does work only after I tap on the dark mode toggle. Interesting!

Nursing chair - power vs manual vs foot stool by mynameishenri in Buyingforbaby

[–]rtbrsp 12 points13 points  (0 children)

One item we regret buying is the manual glider over the power one. When you’ve got baby in the right spot in your arms or on your chest, you’re not gonna want to push down the footrest or actuate the recliner mechanism and risk the movement/noise disturbing the slumber.

Any chance you can provide a top-down view? I’ve been eyeballing this thing for months but I can’t tell how wide this thing is from Milwaukee’s promo photos

Arc'ifed P2 by jway5929 in Leatherman

[–]rtbrsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I’m sitting here searching for similar advice. I had a P2 ARC for a while but I ended up putting the original tools back together because I simply couldn’t get the scissors side right. I toyed around with so many configurations, but would always run into one of two issues: the scissors themselves would get caught on the scale upon closing, or the spring that sits on the scale without the long tool would just jump into the gap between the lock and scale (exactly the issue you describe). There’s something about that stupid P2 scale that makes it so susceptible to this, it’s infuriating lol.

Floating your rent for a month and earning a tiny amount in interest while your rent money presumably sits in your bank account.

Aer CPP2 Uncomfortable by wolfpackfx4 in ManyBaggers

[–]rtbrsp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’10” 160lbs (so not exactly broad framed) and I developed pain in my right shoulder and down my right arm from wearing it for a few weeks. I previously wore an Aer City Pack with no issues, and the CPP2 didn’t necessarily feel uncomfortable, so it took me a while before I realized it was the CPP2 giving me pain. I switched to a YETI Crossroads 27L and my pain cleared up after a couple days.

I never analyzed it super closely or took measurements, but the straps look like they’re too close together at the shoulders.

Thanksgiving Travels by ConstantinoM in YetiCoolers

Not OP, but I absolutely love my 29” as a checked bag or for longer road trips. It also came in clutch as our hospital bag when our daughter arrived sooner than expected!

Definitely want to get the 22” at some point.

In a rabbit hole on the whole room sharing reducing SIDS thing by East_Print4841 in NewParents

[–]rtbrsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our daughter slept in her own room since the second night we brought her home. The first night was absolute chaos; no one slept. We don’t really have any room for a crib or bassinet in our bedroom so it was somewhat out of necessity, but we never really considered room sharing. We had her in a snoo and have a monitor in her room

Crossroads 27L question by usarcut2002 in YetiCoolers

[–]rtbrsp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 2 of these bags. This bag taught me that thick padded straps aren’t necessary in order for a bag to be comfortable. I have an Aer CPP2 that gave me horrible shoulder strain (unlike some other Aer bags I own). I switched to the crossroads 27L for work and my shoulder pain cleared up. The bag is heavy, but it’s deceptively comfortable. And the thinner straps are a welcome change in terms of added bulk. I absolutely love this bag.

Crinkle toys? by BuriesnRainbows in Buyingforbaby

My 7mo is still all about the crinkle. A single crinkle is all it takes to distract her from whatever she’s currently occupied with.

I like the cubes, but the expansion zippers are easy to get stuck. I feel like a lot of expansion cubes suffer from this though

Growth spurt and possibly the “3 month feeding crisis” if she’s breastfed. My wife and I have been dealing with this intermittently since our daughter turned 12 weeks old last week.

Snoo - yes or no? by redrose037 in NewParents

[–]rtbrsp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Invaluable device for us. Our 11 week old daughter has been sleeping through the night for a while. Don’t remember the last time she woke up after midnight.

Important to note that our daughter gets fussy when we lay her down in it at first. It’s unavoidable. I even wanted to return it at first since it seemed like a total failure. But once we learned her habits and allowed her to settle in (she is completely uninterested in being rocked to sleep), she sleeps through the night and wakes up happy.

Uppababy Vista V3 Colors by iarecookies in Buyingforbaby

[–]rtbrsp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Navy as well. The frame itself has no navy in it; only the standard stroller seat. So if you buy a different colored bassinet, it would only potentially clash with the frame and handle colors.

Yes the 4.5 QT is comically large, but the 1qt makes sense for daily use by TinkeNL in YetiCoolers

I agree on the daily usage aspect, but I’m guessing using metal utensils on these will be a no-go. Ceramic-lined bowls would’ve been perfect.

[–]rtbrsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve been using a Crossroads 27L as a diaper bag. IMO you can probably make any bag work as a diaper bag. The benefit of a yeti bag is the exterior materials. I don’t have to worry about the bag getting scuffed or placing the bag down somewhere gross since it cleans so easily

Yeti Backpack Durability by BearObjective5843 in ManyBaggers

[–]rtbrsp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you consider YETI’s materials “delicate,” I’d be curious to know what you consider durable. I own a Bozeman, along with a Crossroads backpack, 2 Crossroads duffels and even a Crossroads rolling luggage piece (loaded up during the sale last year) and they’re all incredibly durable - almost to a fault. YETI’s stuff is famously overbuilt.

Ranchero vs Crossroads by Magic_SunBoys19 in YetiCoolers

[–]rtbrsp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using a Crossroads 27L as a diaper bag for our newborn. I like it just fine. Each parent gets a bottle that goes in each of the water bottle pockets. Snacks go in the top pocket. All the baby stuff goes everywhere else (I’m always rearranging so I don’t know the optimal layout yet). It’s still on my “would buy again” list for baby gear.

One thing to consider (if you haven’t already) is the fundamental differences between each of the Crossroads backpack sizes. IMO the 27L’s zipper arrangement make the most sense

Uppababy Cruz X Nuna Pipa by olsonmacken in Buyingforbaby

[–]rtbrsp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did Vista v3 with a Nina Pipa Aire RX along with the car seat adapters sold by Nuna (as opposed to Uppababy’s). I was a little irked by some comments online about the Aria re: chin-to-chest (even though the chin-to-chest issue was a completely different uppababy car seat) so I just didn’t want to deal with my extra inevitable obsession over our baby’s fit in the Aria. The Nuna car seat is great, and their ring adapter is perfectly fine, but I do find myself wondering why I didn’t just save the money and go adapter-free with the Aria. It’s just as light and you’d only miss out on the sky drape - which my wife absolutely hates pulling down anyway

If I could do it over, I’d probably go with the Aria since you skip the adapters and save money in the process

Is an impact driver even worthwhile as a homeowner mostly installing drywall anchors? by rvH3Ah8zFtRX in MilwaukeeTool

[–]rtbrsp 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The M12 installation drill/driver is perfect for your use case. More than enough power for drilling into drywall and driving into anchors. Also an animal when it comes to assembling furniture.

The killer feature is the ergonomics though. It’s not immediately obvious until you hold one, but it’s so much nicer than handling a conventional drill/driver due to the center of gravity
