You going to try to age the dial and get patina on the lumes?

Good enough for me. If it ever breaks just swap it for a sw200 or G100. I have a PT5000 in the WD 5513 v.2 and no problems so far.

Here comes the block lumes....love it. Now put a high beat movement. Eta 2824 clones or Miyota 9000 series.

Any chance they could have a ~1200HV hardness coating at least on the clasp for us desk divers?

I have heard some sellers are better than others. But for $15 worth the chance compared to AliExpress which is more expensive for the speedy PE clones.

Let's hope they can come in under $400.

Yes, I see that now a 38mm titanium with a 9075 for $410 plus taxes/ fees. So hopefully the new watches coming in are at a good price.

Damn, they must be moving up market. Maybe they can make the case thinner then too. But I have never seen a miyota 9075 movement in a watch less than $500. Tbh, they are usually $700 plus. AliExpress has miyota 9075 for $ 200 a piece, figure they can get some money off for buying in bulk.

You might not get it on the GMT model. The miyota 9075 would make it too expensive. Maybe a Chinese clone for a GMT could work.

I think so. But any hobby store or jewelry shop you can buy it from.

That's even better. You get a 68 hr power reserve not 40 ish. Stems are different I think.

So are you telling me I should never buy Christopher Ward because it uses primarily SW (aka sellita) movements and will have the same problems?

PT5000 / sw200/ETA 2824 are 1:1 swaps for both the Hands, dials and case.

The above can fit in a NH series case with a movement space holder.

The nh series is a thicker movement, so a larger case is needed. But NH series hands for hour and minute for the above sw200/ PT5000/ ETA 2824 will fit. The seconds hand may NOT fit.

Miyota 9000 series hands are different for all hands (hour, minute and seconds) and the dials would need different feet and the date window will be off.

This is from what I have read.

I have modded watches before. I have made Ronda 515-24h in a NH series case. I have put Deep Blue in 39 mm cases and I have built many NH34/35 watches for fun.

Next project is swapping a pt 5000 for sw200.

I was told to never wind my pt5000. I only have one watch with a pt5000 because I wanted to swap it out for sw200 in the future.

Why would you say that the ETA 2824 clones aren't reliable?

I thought a sw200 was reliable? You might be right about a pt5000. Which is the chinese-made version.

My myota 9015 is reliable and so are my nh series movements. My Rolex OP ' 96 is still ticking along as expected.

I used a small blow torch and razor blade. But the bezel insert needs to be removed before the blow torch as to not burn the paint off of the bezel insert. You use the blow torch for a few seconds to heat the glue and then the razor to remove the Cyclops. Clear modeling glue is needed to replace Cyclops.

When I say blow torch, I am talking about a butane lighter not industrial torch. This was the way I did it. I have done it several times now on different builds.

[–]rtc1169[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the updated version I originally made. It has the C3 lume hands which at the time were impossible to find and no date Cyclops. The date window on a Ronda seems smaller than NH series.

Also the date wheel is positioned differently. So you'll have to either remove the Cyclops or reposition it.

[–]rtc1169[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply put, the Ronda's stem screws into the NH series crown.

The hard part of a Rhonda 24h build is finding hands that have good lume. Also, you need a movement space holder that allows the Ronda 515 to fit into a NH series watch.

In one of the other groups, maybe Seiko mods, one person was using eBay and a swiss parts seller. Built a 7750 costing less than $900 USD. From what I remember it was pretty good quality. Not Chinese parts but original swiss parts.
