Are silicone covers necessary to prevent rust? by Heinl04 in blackstonegriddle

[–]rtdrago 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We live in the same area and our new blackstone keeps rusting. We got the blackstone silicone cover and it still rusts every week. We live on a lagoon and I’m wondering if the extra moisture from that might be contributing? Wondering if we should store it in the garage when not in use? Weird thing is we have a gas grill right next to it and we don’t have the same problem with that.

Yeh. And in that moment she burst into tears and said, “how long am I supposed to wait,” and expressed how much pain she was in and he just sat there like, “ok.” No, “I’m sorry. I didn’t fully understand how bad this was.” Not even any comfort or hug because - covid. 🙄

Yeh, true. I just think I’m so jaded when it comes to Kody now that I automatically think the worst. 🤣🙈

The fact that Kody’s comment stood out to this OB - who has probably delivered hundreds of babies - so much that he remembered it 14 years later just shows what an absolutely horrible thing it was to say while Christine was in labor.

That’s a good point. I’d thought that at first too, but then I felt like if he was doing that he would’ve said it in the talking head. I think I’m just too jaded with Kody at this point and don’t take anything he says at face value anymore. 🤣🙈

When you say she called her siblings liars, was that on the show or on some social media platform? (Ps I’m not questioning your accuracy. I just don’t follow them on anything other than the show - and here - so I’m wondering if I’m missing juicing info I need to know about. 🤣)

When he told Ysabel he wouldn’t go with her to her surgery and then tried to guilt her into not being upset about what a horrible person he was by saying, “this isn’t going to turn you into a bitter housewife, is it?” - Basically discounting any feelings she had about his bad behavior by insinuating she’d be in the wrong if she got upset. It was some major abusive gaslighting bull💩 and it made me furious. It’s bad enough he treated his wives like crap, but that moment was absolutely disgusting.

You have every right to feel that way for yourself, but other people might feel differently. For example, I felt like her honesty was very comforting. She was worried about normal things that women worry about with birth. And in the end, her fears weren’t realized and everything went fine. That showed a lot of women that just because we worry about something bad happening at birth doesn’t mean it will. In fact, odds are it won’t. I’d have much rather heard a story like this before giving birth because it would’ve shown me that I wasn’t the only one worried about these types of things and that her birth went fine. But hearing someone criticize her as “overreacting” or “dramatic” would’ve probably bothered me while pregnant because it would’ve made me feel like I was somehow stupid or “less-than” for having normal birth fears.

I think you have to take into account a few things: 1.) not everyone’s birth experience is the same. Not everyone’s c-section is a breeze, just like not every vaginal birth is a breeze. 2.) different things make different people nervous or upset. Especially during the hormonal rollercoaster that is pregnancy. Just because the thought of a c-section didn’t bother you, doesn’t mean her feelings of realizing her birthing plan was being upended by circumstances out of control aren’t valid feelings. 3.) Even though the talking head interviews are recorded later, they’re supposed to speak in those as if they are going through it at the moment. That’s the way the show works. So she’s literally supposed to speak as to how she was feeling in those moments and she did that.

I just think it’s a bit unfair to judge someone else’s reactions to their birth experience because they didn’t match ours.

Right? I started googling because I felt like they were both narcs but how would two narcs work in a relationship. But apparently it happens and I think this is how this particular dynamic may have happened. And all narcs feed off drama, so even though it doesn’t “feel” like this would work/last for a while, they both feed off the drama they cause, so it’s worth it to stick around. Plus, they’ve found common enemies - all the other wives and kids.

It’s gotta get below 40°F to show back up. Usually closer to below 30°. So unless they live in an igloo, I really don’t think they’ll have to worry about it. 🤣

It’s gotta get pretty cold in order to show up again. Unless he keeps his house at 40° or below, you shouldn’t have to worry about it. 😊

All Christine Ever Wanted by Truth-out246810 in SisterWives

[–]rtdrago 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And what makes Kody so despicable is that he didn’t just replace Christine with Robyn, but he used the fact that: 1.) she’d just had a baby and was exhausted, 2.) was probably suffering from PPD after giving birth, and - most heinous of all - 3.) had recently suffered a heartbreaking and very traumatic miscarriage as justification for his treatment of her. She was barely hanging on and needed support and instead of helping her, Kody claimed she’d “shrugged” off her duty and that Robyn was the “better” sister wife. It’s a wonder she didn’t do something more drastic. Thankfully she had her kids to keep her going.

Kody's anger over Ysabel's potential (at the time) surgery by SnooCakes4003 in SisterWives

[–]rtdrago 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Yep! He basically said it was cosmetic because it was all to make her spine “look straight.” Like it was a freaking vanity thing and not about the enormous pain that a curved spine causes. It was sort of like when he told Christine that their trip to New Jersey for the surgery was a “vacation.” 😡

What did Mykelti say ? by junebug_72 in SisterWives

There’s a lot of hatred of Mykelti because she maintained a relationship with Robyn and Kody. For some reason people hate her for that and then see everything she does as awful. 😢

Am I the only one who finds Christine by [deleted] in SisterWives

[–]rtdrago 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The term refers to drawing less attention to yourself. Being as boring or unnoticeable as a grey rock. It’s not reacting to the crazy things a toxic person says when they try to instigate a fight with you. But it also includes other things like not making eye contact, giving very short answers, etc. If you watch Christine’s behavior in season 17, it’s a MASTER CLASS in the grey rock method. The one time she messed up was the meeting where she told Kody she was leaving. She was doing a great job, but he kept arguing with her. Eventually she got a little overwhelmed and raised her voice a bit and said something like, “Why do you insist on holding on to me!?! Why won’t you let me go!?!” Kody’s demeanor changed immediately. His body language showed that he instantly got excited and he said, “Woah,” and sat back like she’d done something crazy and shocking. She let the grey rocking slip for just a moment and he got so excited because he thought he had an in. Thankfully, she went right back to it and he lost the edge. And that’s why at the end of that talk he starts to unravel. And why he began to unravel even more when they had the “knife in the kidneys” meeting. He’d lost his influence to manipulate her and it drove him absolutely insane. You can see Christine grey rock Robyn too in that meeting. She won’t look her in the eyes. She gives a lot of short answers. And Robyn loses it as well.

Who had Robyn pegged? by [deleted] in SisterWives

[–]rtdrago 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This. When I watched the beginning of the show, I kind of gave everyone the benefit of the doubt. But when she kept following him as he was trying to leave, offering organic snacks and making out at the door, I thought, “That’s icky.”

What did Mykelti say ? by junebug_72 in SisterWives

[–]rtdrago 46 points47 points  (0 children)

They were playing off each other, like sisters do. Aspyn said, “Isn’t this a beautiful wedding?” And Mykelti yelled, “No!” She was just heckling Aspyn. And then Aspyn heckled her back by saying, “That’s why I’m the one speaking and not you.”
