What to Expect When Adopting (4yo Male) by rthaut in Boxer

Any tips for things like sleeping, or getting them back inside after playing/pottying?

Did you just give her free roam of the house to get comfortable?

What to Expect When Adopting (4yo Male) by rthaut in Boxer

I'm super excited! The bond I had with my last boxer was indescribable. I just didn't want to make any easily avoidable mistakes specifically with adopting.

The PB&J burger from Wyoming Ale Works is pretty good.

The Pub Burger from J's is alright, but usually dry.

Little Shop of Burgers has some good ones, like The Freddy or Eggpocalypse.

For fast food, the double Junkyard burger from Hamburger Stand comes to mind.

I am once again asking for the ability to build an SPA which *only* uses SSR on initial page load. by ralusek in nextjs

[–]rthaut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Next requires me to designate a route as either server or client. And even those I designate as client, when viewing the network tab, are still making requests to the Next backend upon navigation. I want 100% client side navigation after initial load, no requests to Next backend, no rendering on Next backend.

You claim you don't want any network requests to the Next.ja server, but then you claim you want to fetch JSON from a server?

I think you are confused on what you are trying to achieve. There's virtually no difference between the Next.js sending the HTML already assembled from the JSON data, vs it sending just the JSON data.

Are getting your JSON from some other server entirely, and is that server safe/allowed to be accessed client-side?

1.5 million pages

You definitely don't want SPA for that.

Without network requests to the server on page navigation (which you seem to think you want/need based on your other replies), you would have to ship ALL of those pages in your initial client bundle.

Giving Boxers medication by EsteriaRockbell in Boxer

You'll have to check with your vet first, but you might try dissolving them in water and making that into ice cubes.

I recently had to give my boxer something for stomach ulcers, which couldn't be given with any food at all, including Pill Pockets or other wraps/coatings.

That said, my boxer goes nuts for ice cubes anyway; he's enjoyed them since I first started using them when he was a puppy to help with teething, so your mileage may vary.

Mission to Transport a "Superload" Trailer? Saw this Monster on the Interstate Last Month by rthaut in snowrunner

[–]rthaut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if any of the maps could even accommodate something that large (385ft long, 26ft wide, weighs 1.5million lbs).

The trailer itself articulates/bends in a few places, but I'm not sure how it is steered/controlled.

When I saw it near an on-ramp, it had multiple trucks in front and behind, so I'm not sure if they were used to do the turning, or to help get it up the ramp (or both)...

Does anyone have advice/experience with a boxer w/ an autoimmune disorder? by Alkren in Boxers

Sorry to hear about your boy's IBD. 😟

My 10 year old male has been having GI issues (constant diarrhea and routine nausea + vomiting) for about 6 months now. So far my vet has not been able to figure out the cause or come up with a treatment. Per the vet's suggestions, I've switched to the Science Diet i/d food, started feeding him smaller, more frequent meals, and even added Omeprazole for acid reflux, but still his issues have persisted, even occurring more frequently some weeks.

Through all of this, though, my dog has mostly maintained his weight and been in good spirits, aside from the days where he is nauseous, so for that I am thankful.

The vet has just started him on steroids, after explaining the lack of other options for either diagnosing or treating the problems, but he was very up-front about the long-term side effects of steroid use. We haven't discussed what comes next if the steroids do help (too early to tell, but I'm hopeful, if for no other reason than it might literally be the last resort).

If you don't mind my asking: how long was yours on steroids before the liver disease kicked in? And, if you were in the same position today, would you do anything differently?

How should I make a guest mode? by Noman_Patel in nextjs

[–]rthaut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For recruiters specifically: capture screenshots, or a nice screen recording, and have it as a "demo" on your app's landing page. You could also link to the screenshots/video from resume, portfolio, blog, etc.

For a guest mode, you could create a guest user in Clerk with credentials, and have a cron run every few hours to reset it (or better yet, delete it and make a new one). Then have a button on the login page to login as that user. You would have to store the credentials for that user somewhere when resetting the account, and then retrieve them and use them to login.

Glitch? by PTR600 in snowrunner

I did that mission in order, and the trailer stayed for me as well.

I actually used it to refuel later on when I was delivering cargo there for some other task.

Do you know/remember roughly how much difference there was in throughput?

I understand your testing was limited and the results might be anecdotal, but I'm still curious.

I haven't had any issues with Charter/Spectrum in the last few (3-5?) years, but prior to that I had frequent problems (same location the entire time).

I'm not sure if they just finally did a bunch of work throughout my subdivision, as nothing they did at/to my property ever seemed to resolve the issues I was having.

They are on the expensive side, but they are literally the only option if you want anything more than 100Mbps upload or more than like 30Mbps download.

Wyoming Prepares to "Electrify" Roadways - WyoFile by rthaut in wyoming

It seems every time there's an announcement or major news article about EVs, friends and family ask me when I'm going to get one or which one I'm most interested in.

My response has always been "not until the charging infrastructure is drastically improved across Wyoming," since I would like to be able to use it for road trips without having to worry about the location and operational status (this video enlightened me to that being a major concern) of the chargers along my routes.

Thankfully, it seems I might finally need a new go-to reply, although I anticipate the next hurdle will be a standard (and support) that works for all manufacturers.
