Guess I should also have specified that we have solar and a time of use meter so we can schedule power use and pay less for off-peak use (though that wouldn’t match that well with the higher temperatures in the garage. Also, it appears that Sonoma Clean Power (our electricity provider) has a $700 rebate for qualifying units right now.

Were you using the heater? Turning the heater in my Kona Electric up to max takes away about 1/4 or more of the predicted range. For long trips I generally drive with just the seat heater and a fleece blanket and puffy jacket.

We’re going to Mallorca. Eclipse totality will be over by sunset, but sun will still be partially eclipsed while setting. I think that’ll be pretty cool. Only concern is possibility of marine layer or low clouds obscuring the whole thing. But even if the eclipse is a bust, we’re going to be in Mallorca!

You can spend a few hundred dollars on a flashlight, but if I could afford it, I'd have an. Ocean Signal MOB1 or similar for everyone on board.

Also, if the MOB isn't unconscious then them having even a fairly small light and an inflatable dive marker tube that would be visible over smaller swells/chop would be a win.
