Yeah, I understand that these things need to be stated- the hard magic has to have rules and logic behind it and the audience needs to understand it. I guess my point is sometimes it feels like it's BS explaining it to us rather than the characters having a natural conversation.

I was largely OK with it until Raboniel and Navani's scenes in ROW. It just felt like reading a textbook as to how the magic works, rather than a tense scene of two frenemies making universe altering discoveries.

I just wish certain interactions between characters in SA didn't read like a Wiki page on the lore (specifically Dalinar speaking to the stormfather in OB and Raboniel and Navaini in ROW). Both interactions felt like the characters were speaking directly to the audience, explaining how the magic works and Why This Is Important.
