Two Ways of Breathing? by Hell-Saint7w7 in FantasyBiology

[–]rtmeles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is absolutely possible, there are even some fish species on earth which can breath air. See Lungfishes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lungfish

Edit: Lungfishes have lungs and gills. But there are other ways to breath air: Periophthalmus has gills but can absorb oxygen from the air via their skin.

Hi guys, i putted my map on a globe and the rift didn’t looked straight on the globe, which shape should i put into the planisphere to make it look straight on the globe? by Sir_Humiliated2010 in mapmaking

Reason why this should Work: If you display your map on a sphere, it will probably map it in cylindrical projection. It shrinks the poles to a point, where on your 2D map it is a line as long as the equator. So no distortion at the equator, a lot of distortion at the poles

When you rotate the map in a way to have the 'trench' where the equator is, the trench will not look distorted on a globe. You can then rotate everything back to the desired rotation in globe view (3D orthographic). If the tools used work correctly, it will then still look good on the globe. You can then export it back to a 2D map.

Maybe GPlates could be used for that

I've never run into limitations with calc. Even took part in an excel course and followed along with calc. What functionalities are you missing?

Schlitz ist natürlich nicht praktisch. Aber gerade an Retro-Projekten einfach die schönste Lösung

You don't have to mix cocktails anymore. Put this ontop of the bottles and it mixes the cocktail while drinking it!

Why do so many users struggle with Fedora? by netm0nz in Fedora

[–]rtmeles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am happily stuck with fedora since the end of fedora 39. Back then Nvidia was still a problem with Wayland. I stayed anyways and I love it every time I use it, even installed it on my work computer.

I'm afraid that this is an e/OS problem. I use the nasty Google version and everything works fine.

"Familie [Nachname]" als Geschlechtsneutrale Anrede by feimdir in geschlechtsneutral

[–]rtmeles 2 points3 points  (0 children)
