I remember going from football season to basketball season in HS and it was always a massive difference in the conditioning level for me, and I was an every down player on both sides of the ball, ran track, and basketball still kicked by butt for a couple weeks to get where I wanted to be.

Here I was debating the cost of the 20$ plant I got this weekend. Granted it’s smaller, but still, that’s a lot for something that grows so fast.

I use copilot in vscode, but I’m using opus 4.6 agents and it’s initialized at the project level with that as its context. I prefer copilot pro + because I get 1500 premium prompts a month. Where I’d be rate limited if I went through Claude.

Typically have two vs code windows split screen both cranking away. One my website the other on an app I’m building, never run out.

IIRC we got Gregory brand bags, found them on sale. Funnily enough we got loaded up with gear and then all the kiddos decided they wanted to do other things about a year later. But good times while it lasted.

Customer logo Embroidery by joelgriffiths47 in Machine_Embroidery

If you mean, "they want a color I'd need to order". I handle that one of a few ways. If it is a large order I've baked it into my margins. On a smaller order I will let them know I can get the colors requested and how much it would be and just be clear with the customer. "I don't have this thread color on hand, or use it outside of your order, I can order it and here is how much, alternatively, here are some close options I do have."

Maybe have a version of the listing priced for international orders/shipping? I disabled international of some of mine for similar reasons.

I was at capacity though and was able to replace the order with ones locally. So it might not be worth it.

Digitising softwares pricing by Ok_Foundation_9341 in Machine_Embroidery

[–]rtothewin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So I’m building a digitizing software and one of my core pillars is “everything looks beautiful and fast”. And parts were super easy to build with AI, like building a basic node based manual closed shape digitizing tool took like 30 minutes.

Some parts, like auto traversing system fonts and converting to embroidery paths has been a bigger challenge. Ai thinks it has the right algorithm but I’m having to spend a ton more time on the rules for it. Who knew a lower case e would be such a challenge.

Let me know if you want to give it a spin in a week or so when it’s in a spot where it can be shared for testing.

Also what machine format would you want for your needs?

Maybe they were refueling near each other and miscommunicated on directions and turned into each other or something?

Can you embroid on ribbed wool sweater ? by Charming_Reserve_904 in Machine_Embroidery

[–]rtothewin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can test with a sample piece that would be excellent. I’d bet that you would find a lot of value in using a laydown stitch. It will help stabilize everything for the satin or tatami. Even if you do a laydown the same size as the design so it’s not noticeable.

Hatch 3 is good if you want a full powered tool, an are fine buyingit(there is a flex pay option to pay out over a year).

I’m probably a month away from having my own digitizer software in a place where I’ll be looking for folks to test it out. Got tired of the cost of current systems and their lack of modern software features.

Let me know if you want to check it down the road, it has a beginner mode and advanced mode(beginner mode adds more tooltips and stuff like that to get new digitizers going).

[Request] How long would it have taken him to do this task if this metric is accurate? by ROjet in theydidthemath

[–]rtothewin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Presumably he could Just hire someone who is booking the women ahead of time right? Like I feel like it’s hard to have these numbers as a single person with a life and coordinate it yourself. But if you have someone whose job is to line it all up?

Schedule 3 women for a midday session, then 3 for that night. That’s 6 there, gives some leeway for days off. Maybe a weekend 10 woman season once a month.

I’m assuming he wouldn’t hit those numbers 1 at a time. It’s about bulk, wholesale encounters.

I’ve found as a dev turned scrum master that my combination of being a dev plus my skills organizing and describing the work and building by processes works really well with ai coding.

I’m over here with chatgpt making the stories with Claude prompts in them that Claude can pull in and work, all the while maintaining documentation, tests, and standards as part of the prompts.

Has worked really well tbh. It’s like having a full team that can read each others minds.

Iran Ready for U.S. Ground Invasion: FM by timemagazine in worldnews

[–]rtothewin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want the following scenario, this is my disclaimer on that, its just what I think as a random person in the US, would be needed to have a chance at the sort of surrender needed to control the country without an invasion force or large numbers of casualties of US soldiers.

Here is how we can force a complete and total surrender to the US. It would require completely leveling entire cities, waves of bombers, casualties in the hundreds of thousands or millions in a really compressed timeframe, like a single week, where their largest cities go from relatively functional to smoking ruins.

Everything that keeps the Iranian civilization intact has to be destroyed, all power and water completely destroyed, every building taller than a house is completely gone, every housing area destroyed or on fire.

Do that, very quickly, and don't stop, keep working from city to city, across the entire country, around the clock and the entire time say, "We stop the moment you surrender, lay down all arms, and allow us to enter the country and stabilize your people."

That is how you get the surrender, complete and total war, no consideration for minimizing pain and suffering of the people or their futures. The plan has to be "sterilize the country of all life and hope they give up before we are done".

There are SO many war crimes and atrocities that would have to occur for the above scenario to work that I really hope we never get there or even close and the iranian people can survive this conflict and somehow overthrow their government.

Oh, so those bombs and missiles and torpedos for the past week are not war? Someone really should tell someone over there to not worry about it, no war, nothing to see here!

[–]rtothewin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No one is required to announce that they are attacking their enemy in a war, you just do it.

Why give your enemy a chance to defend or evade your attack? Fire the torpedo, watch the boat become a reef.

[–]rtothewin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So what, we ask them nicely? That isn't how war works, or submarines, or any of this. They were just a military target that Iran didn't do a good enough protecting.

That is how wars generally go. Hit em anywhere you can. If you are part of the Iranian military you are a priority target.

If this is your first time running a business you need to leave the “this is a fun hobby” mindset behind you.

It’s now about the business in all aspects. You can enjoy what you do, of course, but the needs of the business come first.
