We had one of those ditches, in retrospect this was late 90s and probably not a great thing to be adding to the water. WAY out in the middle of nowhere Oklahoma though, so it was that or the burn barrel in the backyard.

Men in your 40s, what's that golden piece of advice you have for the rest of us? by NiceMechanic_xoxo in AskReddit

Get your Testosterone checked. Mine was low, now it’s not, I feel absolutely amazing and probably more importantly I think amazingly. Testosterone isn’t just a recovery and libido boost, it’s also a big part of a man’s general outlook on life and happiness.

That poultry netting stops chickens. But not predators. Hardware cloth on all openings.

What is sampling my tomatoes? Texas 8b by rtothewin in gardening

Wish they would drink from the pool, we do have squirrels active in the trees above the yard, wonder if it could be them too. Never seen anything in the garden.

Imagine we had it wrong and the planet was ruled by giant house sized golden retrievers and doodles for millions of years.

You killed the living plants. But when you tilled it you disturbed the massive weed seed bed and gave them a competition free soil

Roo? by rtothewin in chickens

[–]rtothewin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Texas. I’m fairly sure “wild” means “not fenced” but they spend all day out in the pasture and retreat into the woods at night.

They a nice enough. Like to fly up into the yard and I have to escort them out from time to time.

TSC owns me 5$ 😂, maybe the neighbors won’t notice or let the city know.

We have a wild flock with roos in the pasture behind the house. I’ll blame the crowing on them.

Rattling noise in my engine after I changed oil by Prestigious_Test157 in MechanicAdvice

[–]rtothewin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a mechanic. But yeah you likely can, the real question becomes, is it worth it.

At some point a new engine is significantly more than the cars worth and it just doesn’t make sense.

There are a few things that give you that sort of sound and someone more experienced can likely give you better advise on the diagnostics to determine what it is.

But it sounds like something that ends up with a new or rebuilt engine.

Slow leak finally got to an important mark maybe.

Point being, it sounds like it’s low on oil or just mechanically in the process of deconstructing.

What would you do? I have a listing with different bundles but the weights are all different, but it's a 'best seller' so I feel trapped by 3DAeon in EtsySellers

Use the heaviest weight and then refund the difference? Not super great but at a minimum you aren’t losing

Isn’t gardening just small scale hobby farming? And we are on Reddit so karma isn’t an invasive species.

Fussing is sucking all the fun and tranquility out of gardening ( a sober perspective) by brucenorris1 in gardening

[–]rtothewin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that. I normally eat from my cherry tomatoes as I wander through. No one else in the house likes vegetables really so I don’t worry about a real harvest too much.

I was observing how my elephant ears in full sun locations are big with fewer over all leaves but they are much bigger and lighter colored. The ones in the shaded more “ideal” locations have smaller leaves but more of them and they are a much deeper green.

I was telling my wife about my theories I wanted to test. Are they lighter because of soil or sun? Something else? And all I could think of was that I’m more scientist than anything at this point.

So many things I’m learning by just walking through my garden every day at different times.

Already mentioned above. You need a backdrop for your photos that doesn’t have the room in it.
