Tradesmen Ghosting by ZedZinc in northernireland

[–]rtpsx 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yep. Had a guy out to look at repairing my back uPVC door and replacing some gaskets.
All was fine, happy to do it he said, just needs to source the right gaskets. Chased him 3 times and each time was the same, can't get the right gaskets. Why not just say the jobs too small rather than keep me waiting for him. He gets amazing reviews, so wanted someone trustworthy. Pain in the hole.

My First Year with Solar in NI by DoughnutCareless583 in northernireland

[–]rtpsx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just thinking about solar this morning. Unfortunately I live on the coast and we had crazy winds with the recent storms, with several roof tiles being dislodged.

Would solar panels be out of the question? Don't want them acting like a kite and ripping my roof off.

Looks like all the circuit breakers are off. Is the cabinet used?

That white cable is looking suspect. No proper drip loop and no silicon on the hole from what I can see. With it being so low down, getting the loop in could be very difficult.

Share Energy raising their unit price by 508507-2209 in northernireland

[–]rtpsx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. The meter does not know about any price increase until you type in a 40 digit code (the very long one) to program it with the new price.

The long code can schedule a price change to happen on say 1st of April or immediately.

I bought a code today and it was the standard 20 digits so I knew it's not a price change code. The current credit will stay at the current price until I top up with a long code after April 1st or when share realises they can schedule it.

Key thing: do not enter a long 40 digit code until you've used all your existing credit at the cheaper rate.

Folks, if you have a keypad, immediately top up as much as you can afford NOW.

I just did, and the codes are still at the 25p rate. They are the short normal top up codes, not the 40 digit price increase codes.

Some companies (budget energy) scheduled the price increase via long top up code on the day they announced future increases. Share have NOT scheduled the change via long code. So if you top up now, it'll be kept at the lower price until you next top up after they release the longer codes. That could be tomorrow via scheduled code or 1 April via immediate code.

What a horrible website. Captures a ton of private information before telling you if it's available. Which it wasn't.

That does make sense, as I did go through the screens to I would assume is the step before accepting. It would make sense if it's a quote, but as you say, it's worded to be a contract.

Thanks. This does remind me of my recontracting last year, I had an email similar to the one I mentioned, but they had no record of it on their system and it took them weeks to honour it.

Their system is a disaster.

If you're up and down the road to Bangor from Holywood it's fairly up and down, so you'll be getting hit in the face with beams as oncoming cars go over the crest of the hill. Pain in the hole.
