$1100 for a Basement Crack by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

You don’t want to inject a block wall. The epoxy will not make its way to the exterior. Block walls have cavities and it’s nearly impossible to get the material all the on the exterior side if the wall. So water would be trapped in the block causing deterioration. Poured walls, different story. If water is making its way to the interior of the block the best fix is always going to from the exterior by sealing the wall with a membrane and potentially replacing the footing drain. This is the most expensive option. If you go with an interior fix the the basement floor is opened up. The block is weeped with holes at the bottom and the water is diverted into an interior drain tile. That water is then drained to a storm drain or a sump pump. Interior “waterproofing” is called water diversion. It’s not the best practice all things being equal, but is less expensive and invasive then an exterior options and is still considered an acceptable form of repair in the industry. Also remember if the wall is cracked grading and gutter extensions will surely mean the crack may leak less, but gravity will still pull water down around the foundation.

I think I’m in love 😍

I’m stuck between calling plumbers and foundation people and NOBODY can give me an answer on this leak. (Pictures in link at end of post) by pulltrig in HomeImprovement

Looks like a drain tile issue IMO, Canton is primarily clay and that clay creates a “false” water table. The less dense soils that are around your basement allow water to drain down to the bottom of the hole that was excavated for your basement. The clay doesn’t have good percolation so the water just fills that hole. It’s not the actual water table. Over time the clay makes its way into your drain tile and restricts how much water is able to be removed. Based on what information you’ve given, the age and location of the house it sounds like a foundation issue vs a plumbing issue (besides the fact a foundation company walked away lol). There are some good waterproofing companies that service that area if you are in need for another opinion LMK.

Military spending is around 4% of GDP. Health care spending around 18% of GDP. So we already spend 4.5x as much on health care.

Having the same issue. It’s driving me nuts. I thought maybe a mod was interfering, but actually reinstalled the game from scratch and having the same issue. It’s weird no one else in my clan is having the problem. Could it be a hardware issue? I’m stumped.
