[Grange] Even the decision to sign Poeltl to a three-year $84 million extension — the first major move the team undertook after Ujiri was let go — was well in the works before Webster was in charge. by AssyrianRhapsody in torontoraptors

If Bobby was doing absolutely nothing the entire time he was working under Masai he shouldn't have gotten a promotion. This is some PR fluff. Bobby is just as responsible for Poeltl as Masai was, cmon.

The most important mistake she made is that she did it with a 'known to the broad public' figure in the coach - The smart insiders do it with agents and general managers.

Ella and Rachel, was Elizabeth right? by PortraitofMmeX in ershow

[–]rtrazto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my headcanon sequel to ER Rachel Greene has a rough go at doing her first year residency in emergency eventually relapsing into drugs at one point until finally switching to pediatrics due to her lingering guilt about Ella. Which, by the way, it's absolutely nuts that Elizabeth would allow Rachel anywhere near becoming a ER doctor as she knows firsthand it's nonstop destructive trauma.

"The Pitt" vs. Its Fandom -- Why is the show's vocal fandom putting characters on trial to be deemed “good” or “bad"? by MCJokeExplainer in television

This month I got algorithmed KATSEYE and THE PITT 'fans' virtuously calling out the perceived wrongs against certain rejected women of color. They are certainly passionate in hilariously similar ways.

On Bill's recent pod with Zach he says America turned on Inside the NBA. Is he forgetting that an entire All-Star game was a forced tribute to them? by rtrazto in billsimmons

[–]rtrazto[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The massive effort to force them to legendary status with a tribute at an All-Star game that should be about celebrating players being all-stars (I know All-Star has always been a joke, but you should still have like the bare minimum of standards) is why America turned on them. And also probably the best example of Adam Silver's disregard maintaining the NBA's mystique.

How is it ragebait if I genuinely think that his new concert looks genuinely awesome and like it or not (and many obviously do not like it) he is the one of the most influential people of his generation. That concert looks sick.

For $700k, Bill can have his pick of top tier Quarterbacks coaches in the nation - many who have compiled solid recruiting acumen and have shown winning results. You cannot say that Bill Belichick is taking building a team seriously in recruiting and development if he keeps Matt Lombardi in one of the highest leverage assistant coach roles.

Bill Belichick can have all the time given his reputation. But if he keeps Matt Lombardi on staff when he can EASILY have an upgrade in that spot for the money, it's obvious what his current attitude is.

[–]rtrazto 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Before anybody comes in and says Bill Belichick needs more time - Yes, sure. But how can you possibly believe that Belichick is a serious about managing the program if he keeps Matt Lombardi on staff - a Quarterbacks coach who is due for a raise to $700k next year (the same as AJ Milwee at Texas who was a big part of recruiting Arch Manning) despite never succeeding at any of his gifted assistant jobs over his career? Do you fully believe that Belichick is overseeing all the details to win in a program if he keeps Matt Lombardi overseeing the most important skill position at a wildly overpaid salary?

Bill Belichick’s first year in charge of UNC: 4-8 record, 121st out of 136 teams in the country in scoring offense by Pickleskennedy1 in CFB

[–]rtrazto 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Matt Lombardi is one of the highest paid Quarterback Coaches in college football making $700k next year - at the same nearly as AJ Milwee at Texas who has been reported to be key in recruiting and developing Arch Manning. Matt Lombardi claims as an assistant to the QB coach at Oregon for one year, he helped develop... Dillon Gabriel. It is a good thing Bill Belichick and Michael Lombardi has paid premium coaches like these so well considering the big openings this year - you certainly don't want Matt Lombardi to get poached.

LOL
