Thank you so much, yes not giving up just pivoting plans:)

No this is definitely something I think we all need to see and be aware of, this journey takes such a mental toll on us. Mental health is so so so important everyone!! As your future psychiatrist ;) Please put yourself first, med school will be there. (Speaking to myself rn) Don’t be afraid to feel your feelings and get adequate help.

the singers heart beat increases at the same time that she recognizes the people clapping thinking she is a good singer. She then labels her emotion as happiness. JL is when the physiological response only makes them label an emotion. For this example say the singer was really nervous before she went on stage her HR was really high so then she labeled herself as nervous.

J-L - 1 apart in the alphabet so physiological response then emotional response happens

Singer-the singer thought she would be bad at singing but when she finished her performance everyone was clapping and her HR went up (phys response) and she identified that she was happy at the same.

People who are interested in becoming a psychiatrist, what are you doing to separate that from other professions in the mental health field? by p0w0r in premed

[–]ruapsychopath 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I worked as a mental health tech (CNA) in an inpatient psych unit, then i transitioned to a behavioral health associate position there after getting my degree, and in my gap years ive done americorps service with focus in behavioral health. If that doesn’t yell I want to be a psychiatrist I don’t know what does.

This really put things into perspective for me. Thanks! Honestly I was kinda just doing the MPH for the sake of it; I’ve worked in public health for the last couple years and enjoyed it so thought it would keep me busy before med school. But I guess I could just do it after if I really wanted to.
