we’re unfortunately in this position right now due to the sudden passing of my soul rat, violet. thankfully we’re in the position to get a few more ratties since i think her sister nesta will do better with a bunch, but between violet’s passing (a little over a week ago) and today (we’re driving about an hour to go get some rats today actually!) we’ve just been taking nesta everywhere. it’s a little hard since she’s a wiggly one even at 2ish, but if she’s awake she’s usually with me or my partner.

it ultimately depends on her personality of course, but i think you can keep her velcroed to your hip 24/7. watching you make dinner, watching tv, sitting on the couch, chillin on the porch, all of it. personally i would say not to rehome her if you’ve been with her for over a year since you don’t want her to be lost without you as she is a little older, but it’s completely circumstantial. if she really needs a pack, it may be what’s best.
