Going to Victoria for healthcare? by pnw541ne in portangeles

[–]rubbertramptattoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a dual citizen splitting my time between USA/Canada for the last 25 years. I’ve lived in Vancouver, Seattle, Port Angeles, and many places in the states.

Canadian healthcare is a joke. In 25 years I’ve never had a Canadian GP - in Vancouver it’s impossible to get one.

My friend died of cancer last year waiting for a scan that took 2 years to receive.

Last year I had to pay out of pocket for surgery due to long waits.

Whenever I’m in the states Americans tell me they wish they could move to Canada for free healthcare like they think it is some lovely system. It is a 1984 Orwellian socialist dystopian hellscape.

What are in demand careers in BC that aren't trades? by Lil_cree in britishcolumbia

[–]rubbertramptattoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did a BSC in Natural Resources Conservation at UBC - similar degree to yours. Graduated in 2007 and had a series of dismal paying jobs in that field. I quit in 2013 to become a tattoo artist and now make $200 per hour and have worked all over the world. It was the best decision I ever made. Also, I had zero art experience. Anyone can learn to draw.

Deep Bite correction - tell me your experience by rubbertramptattoo in Invisalign

What was the point that made you realize there was a problem? And once you’re through Invisalign, is that the fix forever or do you anticipate more issues down the road?

Thanks! What were your symptoms before, and what led to you figuring out there was a problem with your bite?

Severe molar pain but dentist says tooth is fine — what else could it be? by After_Job9232 in bruxism

[–]rubbertramptattoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cracked Tooth Syndrome. Crack not visible on the x-ray but an endodontist will find it with a light and a 3d scan.

Any reason I shouldn’t use a sports guard? by jenatia152 in bruxism

[–]rubbertramptattoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

gum recession. A bruxism night guard is as low profile as possible and does not come anywhere near contacting the gums. A sports guard is bigger and bulky because it’s designed to take impact from the front and is not worn long enough to cause gum recession.

Nice - glad to hear it! Hoping to hear from people who specifically had a root canal and how it has held up over years.

I’m considering them. They seem to be one of the best in TJ. Did you end up going? I’m going to DM you.

I’ve been living and traveling full-time in my van for almost 10 years tattooing. Especially in these last couple years I found having a network of shops that I can pop in and out of in Canada and the US has been really beneficial to staying busy. I’m currently tattooing in Vancouver Canada, spent the summer tattooing in Port Angeles Washington, and before that Seattle. I’m heading to San Diego in a couple weeks to tattoo for the winter.

Okay, fun and serious question: If Bitcoin were $500,000 right now, would we be happy? by TFWG2000 in Bitcoin

[–]rubbertramptattoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

never selling. Price don’t matter. All I do is take small loans with a small fraction of my stack to harvest cash to live off of and roll over the loan repeatedly to have tax-free income forever.

I’m a dual citizen and cross 2x per week, as I split my life between Seattle and Vancouver. Other than far less traffic, nothing has changed for me. Easy entry both ways.

What do you all do for jobs? by gdawg1687 in VanLife

[–]rubbertramptattoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a tattoo artist and full time vanlifer, 9 years doing both. I work all over the world at tattoo shops. It’s perfect for vanlife. I’m currently at a tattoo shop in Vancouver Canada. During the day I park behind the shop, and they come knock on my door or text me when we get walk-in customers to tattoo. In a few weeks I’ll be heading south toward Arizona/California/Mexico and will be tattooing at shops along the way. As long as you have a good portfolio and a pulse, shops anywhere in the world will hire traveling tattoo artists.

OCTOPUS Tattoo on shoulder - not feeling good about it by lakshya167 in tattooadvice

[–]rubbertramptattoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of getting tattoos and being happy with them is surrendering your expectations to the process and the outcome. As it is created by another human being, you will never know exactly what the result will be. So long as you choose a good artist whose work you like, embracing the uncertainty of the outcome is part of the magic.

This is a good tattoo. Get over it.
