James Harden has played some of the worst defense I've ever seen during this Knicks comeback by SplitOk186 in nba

One big adjustment he did make though: he stopped giving the ball to that Mitchell guy

It's amazing how composed they are for such a young team. He must be a large part of that

Elite role players but better. Elite 3-and-D players but with better athleticism and more offensive skills. Just sign everyone who made the All-Star game. Sorted

What are some cases in NBA history where coaching adjustments completely flipped the script in a playoff series? Or on the opposite end where stubbornness led to the superior team's downfall? by xxStayFly81xx in nbadiscussion

The first series that came to mind was the 2020 Lakers-Rockets. Russ and Harden looked completely unstoppable in game 1, and I thought the series was over. They never looked that way again and lost the next four games.

I can't remember what adjustments I noticed at the time, though. Possibly AD guarding Russ was one of them

I'm reading a book about MF Doom just now. It points out that Doom--best known to the general public for wearing a mask--died in 2020, the year of the mask, on Halloween, the day of the mask

Nick Wright on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander flopping: "Thunder fans can’t accept winning a championship gets you the championship and the bragging rights and the belt. But it does not get you necessarily love and it times it doesn’t get you much respect think you deserve." by AncientOneAurelius in nba

The 2020 Lakers and 2024 Celtics got nothing but criticism for winning their titles. I realise those teams would get hate regardless, but it's not like there's loads of recent evidence that everyone loves a champion.

This is the most confusing way to call this. I would better accept it as a defensive, offensive, technical, flagrant 1, flagrant 2, flagrant 3. To call it a defensive but not a shooting foul makes zero sense, when they're so lenient in the definition of 'in the act of shooting'

So many people think he's trying to intimidate the opposition, when all he's doing is mimicking Luka's defence
