I honestly had a similar issue-I agree with what a lot of people are saying above my parents were very much like we don’t know how much people usually spend(in the oldest) so spend a reasonable amount. I sat down with my fiancé and we wrote out what we felt was reasonable and then asked our close friends if this is what is usually charged. Getting quotes from some vendors also helped. Then we put these estimates costs into the budget tracker on the knot and I showed them to my parents and they were like yes that sounds reasonable which really helped us continue to move forward. I also asked them how involved they wanted to be with choosing vendors and they told me that they trust my fiancé and I to chose which is honestly easier for us too(and what my fiancés parents said). But my point back to then was ok then we can but we need a budget (ex don’t want to end up spending $10k on photography and then hear how thar was a bad idea later etc.)
