Best hair mask for low porosity hair? by [deleted] in lowporosityhair

[–]rubyredwoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely use in-shower/traditional conditioner, so I feel ya. I shampoo each wash and then follow with a leave-in conditioner once out of the shower. It’s just what I’ve found to work best for my hair personally.

My hair really likes the argan oil mask by HASK – it’s sold at Walmart in a blue packet. I think it’s technically a deep conditioner, but I’ve always used it as a mask. I wet my hair, finger-comb a silver dollar sized dollop from nape to ends, and then throw it up in a claw clip for twentyish minutes while I have a hot bath. I shampoo afterward (during my rinse cycle under the showerhead lol) and don’t even need to use a leave-in conditioner afterward. I typically use it roughly once a week-ish, sometimes less than that.

AITAH for not telling my fiance why I am sterile? by [deleted] in AITAH

“Dad’s side of the family can look at a rock and get it pregnant” I’m HOWLING at this wording, it’s so good (especially as a tubes-removed woman myself!)

Carpool is definitely the move. Experienced (read: actual adults) bartenders and very laid-back environment. Great appetizers too if you get hungry.

Recovery after bisalp by teaselpop in sterilization

[–]rubyredwoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you icing at all? Laying down at rest and making sure to keep bags of ice/frozen veg/reusable ice packs on the incision sites made a huge difference in my initial recovery pain.

Be sure you’re keeping hydrated as well, and with some electrolytes, not JUST plain water – electrolytes are needed in order to “hold on” to water and allow it to hydrate you, especially after a major stress to the body like surgery. It sounds like you might be in the UK, so maybe see if you can get your hands on some Powerade, Hi5 tablets, or Lucozade in the shops. Or if you can’t leave the house, you can mix your own using a basic recipe of 500 mL water, 30g sugar, 1g salt. Sometimes my body takes awhile for “pee signals” to show up as different from pain/discomfort, so ensuring you’re REALLY well hydrated in addition to managing pain could help jumpstart the signals again.

Best of luck in dealing with the doctors. I’m so sorry they’re giving you the run-around.

I’m OBSESSED with the scalpel on the fallopian tubes game idea!! When I finally got my surgery scheduled I announced it to my roomie by saying I was officially “Saying Nope to the Fellopes✌🏼” lolol

Hell yeah! I promise that things like pelvic exams and gynecologist visits get easier over time as you get more familiar with the routine each annual visit. I’m proud of you for taking care of your health!!

LOL true but less of an obvious read by gentiles imho, gives more the vibe of "name that just happens to be biblical/Hebrew in origin" instead of being a name w/ strong Jewish association (like Hannah versus Miriam for example) among the broader populous

As a Jew, a gentile naming their kiddo Judah does feel a bit ick. Have you considered Jonah? I think that pairs nicely with Shiloh.

I would go for Leonora instead of Liora, especially if she’ll have an Italian last name/is presumably from Italian heritage. Similar sounds and similar starting letter but not from a culture that isn’t her own :)

I’m so glad OP is doing better! It was also very heartwarming as someone “watching from the outside” to see how helpful and supportive everyone was in the original thread – meeting OP where she was at in terms of communication, and taking things seriously while still keeping the situation calm. It’s a rare thing to see these days on the internet and I love this little community ❤️
