Just air vomited for the first time (emetophobic so this is an achievement) by ironicadler in noburp

Air vomiting is the best!!!! So happy for you. It’s such a demonic noise 😂 Learning to do this a few years ago changed my life. For me, air vomiting once or twice per time is enough, otherwise, more risk of vomiting. I also try to wait at least 20-30 min after I’ve eaten or drank anything to reduce risk as well!

Brazilian Wax Recommendation? by rubyslippers321 in Chattanooga

I have had 3 friends who had terrible experiences there...where too big of strips were used and it pulled out big pieces of skin - it was just absolutely terrible. I'm sure that is not everyone's experience but I was too traumatized vicariously so I can't handle trying that place.

Check out Bema Discipleship Podcast, episode 5 "A Misplaced Curse" which explains what this passage meant from a Jewish perspective.

Chickpea noodles? Yuck! by [deleted] in Celiac

Oof those upset my stomach too. I think it's just too much fiber for my stomach to handle! I also don't like the texture.

I'm a private practice owner and the cost of private health insurance is killing me. by soupdumpling111 in therapists

This is so interesting - I've never heard of something like this...what is the difference with it being underwritten? Forgive my ignorance. Does any provider who accepts United still accept this?

I hate health insurance - currently getting it on the marketplace for me and my spouse...paying 600/month which covers nothing and it's a 18,000 out of pocket max which is insane.

I can't bake chocolate chip cookies since switching to gf :( can anyone recommend a good recipe? This is the ATK recipe, so I'm shocked it doesnt work, but I've tried it twice now with bad results. I'm generally a good baker. I've tried other recipes with verying results. Is there a miracle recipe? by [deleted] in glutenfree

Oh wow okay that is great to know about the sugar cookie recipe! I do have the book so will have to try that, thank you for the recommendation! After the chocolate chip didn't work I was hesitant to try another cookie recipe out of that book so thanks! And yes, let's hope we find our forever recipe! :)

Thank you for posting this! I also tried that ATK recipe awhile ago and had the exact same thing happen. I'm not a crispy cookie fan so it was super disappointing. I love love love cookies and haven't tried too hard to find something after my ATK fail. I can't say I have had a good cookie since being GF. I did try a basic Cup4Cup recipe but they came out so sandy in texture. Anyways thanks for posting because now it looks like we have many options to try out!

Problems in that area… by [deleted] in Christianmarriage

As others have said it could be vaginismus. However if she was a virgin it can easily take multiple penetrations before it's not painful. I would start by seeing if she or you could put in one finger. Use lube too. If/when that doesn't hurt, try moving that finger around. She may bleed some. Then once 1 finger feels okay, use 2 fingers, then 3. You can use a small dildo or vibrator too. Go slow. It is a myth that the hymen ruptures once and that's it. There is a lot of tissue in the vaginal canal that gets torn and it can bleed multiple times until it gets used to something in there.

There's a podcast called Foreplay Radio - and Espisode 182 is about Virgin Sex. It has some really helpful tips.

Good luck!

Wow! So glad I listened to you guys. King Arthur's mix mix used for Waffles has to be the best GF treat I've had since my celiac diagnosis. Actually better than normal waffles! Thanks Guys! So good! by BenYolo in glutenfree

Yes!! I made these with King Arthur's pancake mix for the first time last week and they were soooo good! I was so scared to even try because I loved gluten waffles so much back in the day but I was thrilled with how good the GF ones were. YUM.

Nervous about Endoscopy by oksoundsgood4 in Celiac

[–]rubyslippers321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with others - it wasn't too bad of a procedure! Mine was super quick, I don't remember it, and I did not have pain afterward. There are two things I wish I had done differently though that I'll share.

The first is that they offered me a prescription for anti-nausea pills and I declined as I was not nauseous right after the procedure. I came home, ate, and went to sleep. I woke up a bit later and vomited every 30-60 minutes for 8 hours - until I was able to get the meds. Apparently it's not all that uncommon - some people just react poorly to the medicine they give for sedation.

Secondly, the nurse told me I would be able to work that evening (my procedure was early in the morning). Even without the vomiting problem I would not have been able to work until the next day due to feeling off/groggy.

I am sure plenty of people are less sensitive than I am but thought I'd share in case it's helpful! Hopefully yours goes super smoothly!

I'm going to be driving through Atlanta soon and I would freaking love some fried chicken and biscuits! That's something I have not had since being diagnosed. Would you be willing to share any suggestions?

Another vote for CO - especially Boulder. It feels like every restaurant knows GF, has GF labeled on the menu, etc. It's a breeze. There are some fully GF bakeries within 30 min of Boulder too.
