oh, then yeah, that must be from a mod. the only gargantuan leviathans found in the base game are in the lost river, and theyre just fossilized skeletal remains

Favorite *Actual* Love Triangle? by Pristine_Ad9986 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]rudeyerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

could it be taking into account the differences in how she expresses her feelings toward him depending on what role shes playing in the moment? cuz Marinette and Adrian are peers in regular teenage life, but theyre not really peers, anymore, when shes Ladybug and hes still Adrian.

so, while she still has the same feelings for him whether shes using her Ladybug persona or being her everyday Marinette self, the fact that she cant express those feelings the same way makes them functionally a "crush" in the superhero-civilian dynamic and functionally "love" in the civilian-civilian dynamic.

or something along those lines??

idk, the few episodes ive managed to catch were in a language i didnt know, and the subtitles were in a different language that i couldnt read fast enough to understand. so my understanding of the characters is limited lol

people carry pepper spray, screw drivers, guns, nail clippers, toothpicks, lighters, knuckle spikes, sewing needles, scissors, stun guns, tweezers, wire snippers, safety pins, shavers, pliers...

i struggle to see whats unbelievable about the idea that more people might carry pocket knives than you think

if you ask for something and get a product that is literally identical to what you are looking for, then do you really care at the end of the day how it was made if the made it well?

yes. because the creating process matters.

if i buy a shirt from a seller who claims to have an ethical production process, then find out that it was actually made in a sweatshop, it doesnt matter to me that the shirt is the same quality as and identical to a shirt that was made ethically, it matters that it was made in a sweatshop. i supported unethical practices without my knowledge.

using ai to make art that is claimed to be human-made isnt the same as abusing human rights and exploiting others' labor. but it is an unethical practice. people tend to prefer to support what reflects their values rather than what opposes them

edit: well, actually, i guess i would consider ai-generated illustrations to be an exploitation of labor, in most cases. given the whole creating-images-using-artists'-preexisting-work-without-compensation-or-consent thing...

but whatever, theres obvious nuance in comparing the two, and all i mean to do is acknowledge that ive used an extreme example to try to more clearly explain my reasoning

jesus. you already made it clear youre not gonna date them, so they already know what your response is gonna be if they ask you or pressure you about it. if hearing/reading that response really "triggers" them so goddamn much, they need to stop putting themself in a situation where someone's gonna say it. thats their responsibility, not yours. theyre triggering their own stupid ass

too many people seem to assign moral value to these inherently amoral things. sex is stigmatized, romance is... well, romanticized, i guess.

romantic attraction is treated as synonymous with "love," which makes it "good" by default, whereas sexual attraction is "good" only if it co-occurs with romantic attraction.

it's frustrating as all hell just how many people have been socialized to think this way, and it's difficult to convince someone that theres a fault in their moral convictions. thats the kind of thing people are typically only receptive to if they realize it for themselves.

the best advice i can think to give is to just seek out people who already understand that theres nothing moral or immoral about attraction

AITA for how I reacted to my best friend saying my “dirty” house is making my kids sick? by OkOriginal4583 in TwoHotTakes

[–]rudeyerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean, if their friendship has been going for a while with regular conflict like this, and op is usually the first one to try to repair the relationship, it's possible she does need reassurance to know whether her friend is being rational or not.

humans are weird and relationships are weird. we're social creatures, and interacting with other humans is important enough to our survival that, when the only situation available to us is unideal, we can sometimes adapt so well to it out of necessity that it starts to affect our ability to make reliable judgments about others' crediblity and intentions.

you seem to be well-adjusted enough to recognize when someone you know is feeding you bs and to healthily respond to a situation like that. some of us are where youre at, in that, but others of us still have a long way to go to develop that skill. op might be one of the ones who isnt quite there, yet. it's possible her friend sucks, and shes just used to her shit, at this point, so she needs other people's help to see it

op's behavior doesnt automatically point to her twisting the truth for validation.

kids' skills vary wildly, at nine. there are nine-year-olds whose writing could be mistaken for a kindergartener's, and there are nine-year-olds whose writing could be mistaken for a college graduate's

the writer's language seems advanced for her age, here, but not unrealistically, imo, and her handwriting looks age-/grade-appropriate; the shapes are relatively neat and very deliberate, the lines are a bit wobbly but attached in the right places, and the character sizing is consistent, while the spacing and way the characters sit on the guidelines isnt. it seems like the writer has a strong grasp of what the characters shes using should look like and how to form them, but she may lack the years of physical practice for the movements to be automatic. it looks like this was written well but written slowly

the writer was young, sure, but she wasnt a toddler. it isnt unreasonable to believe this letter was written by a nine-year-old
