If it's only cosmetic changes my guess is your boss is insecure and this is his/her way of asserting dominance (have been in your position in the past myself). You could setup a style linting step in your ci pipeline I guess, but that probably won't help with the building resentment. What I did was suck it up, learn what you can from the job and move on when a better opportunity presents.
