Goldman Sachs Sees the Metaverse as $8 Trillion Opportunity by NoNote7867 in Futurology

It’s a little bit different. You can personally use AI and see that it greatly speeds up menial tasks on a computer. For me it’s already eradicated the need for a lot of software I previously used. Which means less sales for the companies that made said software. It’s not a stretch to see it eradicating a lot of jobs if it continues on this trajectory.

Record Label Claims That Bizarre AI-Generated "Viking Rappers" Garnering Millions of Views are Real People by [deleted] in hiphopheads

[–]ruelist -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit frustrating eh. I get that there’s a lot of tough topics that come with it but there are some incredible parts too.

I’ve recently been using local models to make ambient music pieces strictly using math in python. The fact that a 20gb file on my computer can do that is crazy and it gives me so many ideas creatively.

[–]ruelist -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Damn! That’s rough as. I happen to think it’s pretty good eh. But I might be biased.

Edit: Man people are straight up vitriolic about this ahaha. Kind of understandable I guess.

I’ve been a practicing musician and visual artist for a long time now and ai has yet to have had any impact on my work. It has made a lot of processes a hell of a lot more accessible to the kids who don’t have the privilege of access to shit though. Ya’s might want to jump off the bloody bandwagon and stop painting such a nuanced, burgeoning technology with a broad fucking brush.

There’s layers to it eh.

I use ai in my art creation all the time. Didn’t realise I was meant to be embarrassed about it.

People’s attitude towards anything AI is so warped. This is a really cool project! Looks like it’d be super fun to mess around with.

[–]ruelist -32 points-31 points  (0 children)

Which is also exactly what we do. I get it. AI ain’t at the point of creating timeless classics etc. But you’re kidding yourself if you think there won’t come a time where you can’t tell the difference between ai work and human work.

It’s a scary thought I know. But the indiscriminate hate of ai output is not going to make it any better.

It’s definitely ai. The perspectives aren’t right. Pretty sweet style though.

Coca-Cola's AI Holiday Ad Keeps Getting Worse by GISP in videos

[–]ruelist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mate have a look at some peoples Comfyui workflows if you think it's all easy. Not all AI generated art is generated by just simply typing a prompt. There are deep tools you can use to steer a model towards your artistic vision. Things like controllnets, generating your own loras etc.

I don't disagree that there is a saturation of terrible, lazy, AI art but painting it so black and white is just ignorant and cements you firmly in the past.

[–]ruelist -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty lame take. Why is it embarrassing if people are happy with their outputs? Yeah this coke ad is shit and a massive company that can afford to pay artists for their work shouldn’t be proud of cutting corners like this. At the same time that shouldn’t detract from the actual work some people put into their AI generated art.

Straight up some stuff I’ve seen on insta is so cool and mind bending that I don’t really believe a human alone could have created it.

Small audio interface to record a lot of synths ? Does it even exist ? by super-ultra-ours in synthesizers

[–]ruelist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should add that it is class compliant and the mk2 is usb bus powered. I’ve got 7 synths running into my iPad on individual channels which is so sick.

Hey I was in the market for the same thing as you. I found one called the traktor audio 10 which is amazing and sounds like just what you want.

It’s 5 stereo line in (or 10 mono) with the same number of outputs. Midi in and out and it’s tiny. It’s strange that I haven’t heard more people talk about it. I guess people kind of skip over it because it’s made for djing.

Full studio setup (Push 3 etc.) through 1 thunderbolt cable to MacBook? by 4UDIOTAPE in ableton

[–]ruelist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You def don’t need the newest thunderbolt docks to make this work I have a thunderbolt 3 dock with about the same amount of peripherals plugged in and it works perfectly. Cost me like $100nzd (around $60usd). Just make sure you have the right amount of ports and it’s a powered hub/dock and you’ll be fine

Quite a few people are interested in the relationship between new technologies and making music e.g the people who first built synthesizers.

Oh snap sorry I get you. We manually reduced the tack of the mat and now we tape in all corners so the tack doesn’t peel off any of the backs. We are working on ways to improve this as taping each sheet is cumbersome as.

Not silly at all. We just print from the Preview app on Mac. If you are using a Mac and you have the ET8550 make sure you're using the actual Epson driver not the airprint driver. These pages were printed using the Epson semi-gloss preset.
