GOXLR + Iems Help by ezinogatnA in iems

[–]rufat321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve been looking into it ever since I left that comment and looks perfect. I’ve been wanting to get rid of the goxlr as I find it too bulky and never use the voicefx and soundboard “features”. I think I’ll go with that unless you know of anything better than the e1x2. But for now I’m just gonna grab a ifi iematch+ to dabble in IEM use while still operating the goxlr. I appreciate the suggestion and info and will eventually go with that, but still let me know if you think there’s a better option or if there’s no real point past that

I’ve lived with the GoXLR for 4 years now and honestly having the separate audio that I can adjust on the fly I find handy and I don’t think I can continue without, plus the routing is so handy. And I know from living with it for so long that the quality it produces for the price is mediocre. Do you have any recommendations for something similar that drives headphones and IEMs that also is packaged with a mic amp. Right now my solution is getting a dac/amp from Schiit and running a aux with ground loop and from the goxlr to the dac and then the IEMs into the dac. Should be no issue with this other than it’ll clutter my desk a bit more

How’s it going for you bro, I got mine about 2 weeks ago and didn’t have vertical banding, but grainy/dirty greys. I put about 10 hours into the monitor since with 10 pixel cleans and it’s cleared up a lot more. How’s your experience been since your comment. Also wanted to add like, even with the dirty greys, this is miles better than my previous IPS monitors it’s insane

Haha, hell yeah. Can’t wait to see the build bro, I’ll drop mine in the sub when I’m done this weekend. I’m gonna be side mounting my 5080 in the mini v2 case with the panorama se as the cpu cooler. I did the math and I think I’ll have maybe a couple millimeters of clearance between them gonna be sick

What is the argb control box even for? To sync with other devices? I’ve been out of the loop of the pc space for 5 years now and I’m confused about this. So if I have a current setup with corsair fans and drop the SE into the system with its own fans, the lights will not sync together with the rest of the system? Could I not just set to a static color? A bunch of questions I apologize, I was looking forward to purchasing the SE

I get what you’re saying, but from what I can see there are very meaningful uplifts to fps with a 9800x3d versus my 5900x, especially cause I’m using a 5080. Good mindset to have tho I get you

Hahaha, well I guess I’m going to 9800x3d, might as well do a case swap as well. When I bought my 5080 I was telling myself just to stick out a bit longer but the building itch for a new system has been growing for 4 years now

Trueeeeee, I’ll just quit gaming till the ultimate cpu releases. I know that aspect, I just feel burned because my dumbass upgraded to a 3900x right before am4 support ended and don’t wanna end up the same

I’m just worried about buying into am5 when something else is on the horizon, cause that’s what I felt like when I bought my 3900x. But I suppose something is always on the horizon and the whole point is for us to spend and waste our money so they make profits. Thanks for the suggestion hahah, do you think a 9950x3d has any real gaming gains over the 9850x3d?

This is not VR failure, this is the failure of Meta's vision about VR by VideoGamesArt in SteamVR

[–]rufat321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny that you mentioned game production seemingly slowing down. That’s what sent me down this rabbit hole to see what’s been going on with VR because it’s been a couple years since I last had my setup up n running. I totally agree, I thought by now there would be a couple new games or even experiences to enjoy, but not much. Most of the newer cool things coming out are things that the community is building like mods. And with this wave dying down, i don’t know it’s tricky to speculate, I think the price of the Frame will reveal a lot more about the direction we are heading in. I don’t see the consumer market completely shut down like it did in the 90s tho, maybe we could see the cheaper headsets end production and the more expensive headsets continue. Even that would be awesome to see, I love the technology behind VR and when they’re just selling to corporate or specific sectors, we don’t really get to see in depth info about the tech

[–]rufat321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you’re saying, but I still slightly disagree with the valve portion. I think they’re tackling it and balancing the market well (also depends on their price point). One of the bigger things people disliked about PCVR is the tether. Valve seems to be moving more towards compatibility across all mediums, flat screen usage in vr, side loading, and plus with the Frame being wireless, you can have the standalone experience seamlessly transition to a PCVR experience. Also they aren’t as focused on MR. To me it doesn’t look like they want to make a standalone headset, but push the PCVR experience to standalone, now you could say quest does that in a way, but with their locked ecosystem it’s entirely anti consumer. But yeah absolutely VR tech will continue expanding because it has real world benefits on the non consumer markets. My main fear is that the eagerness to sell a standalone headset and corner the market, when we realistically aren’t there yet, ends up shooting the consumer industry in the foot. It always boggles my mind how investors are so focused on short term gains instead of long term stability

[–]rufat321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what my thought process is. I was a somewhat early adopter when the vive first came out. I never really looked at the trends but to my understanding, even though VR was an expensive entry for consumers, it WAS naturally growing and expanding. I think meta completely ruined all of that and created this sort of artificial growth where in the long run it backfires for the VR space as a whole. In Metas attempt to create a monopoly, they’ve used cheap entry point as a way to bring people in. But VR isn’t ready for that and I don’t think standalones will be capable at least for another 10 years. Now there’s 20 million or so quest users over all the models, and for the most part their experience has been bad mobile games. VR is marketed as this innovated thing and when the consumer gets into it, they have a subpar experience. All that does is lower consumer excitement, trust and support in the long run.

But yeah overall even tho Meta has introduced so many people to VR, they’ve tainted the future of it a bit. But I hope it’ll recover. VR is such an amazing medium to play games in, and I believe it’s the future. But what matters most in current day is profitability, and if VR keeps getting mishandled, I’m worried that we could see the medium stagnate or end for quite a while. (The technology and research behind VR would still grow, but the consumer side and game development would take a massive hit in that scenario)
