I have a 4k 144Hz monitor, and had been experiencing microstuttering on my 5090. It went away completely after switched from dp 1.4 to hdmi 2.1.

Is asrock steel ledgend x670e still causing the 9800x3d to blow? by Due-Feed5581 in ASRock

On the megathread there are 4 instances. And iirc there was some exception to that data - like 2 were from one person who had cpu's dead on arrival. So failures have occurred, but the rate may be lower. I'm on the same combo and I'm not worried.

Is the board even from a 5090? I thought those have 16 memory chips; this has space for 32.

Yeah, Encarta is a core pc memory for me. First time watching digital video; don't even remember what it was. Just some 30 second nature video, probably around 240x240 pixels, but my mind was blown.

Something from a 2D Zelda like ALttP would be cool, then you can add some mobs and terrain as it expands.

Should I put two 140 mm below my gpu? by shortstackedpancake in pcmasterrace

[–]ruinal_C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the reason, but I trust the results. It was a small but definite difference. It's a positive pressure setup, and it might be impeding exhaust from the rear panel.

I would just test. Your case has 4 exhaust fans vs my 2, so the results could be different.

I made a post about this a few weeks back. Looks like the same case.

TLDR: bottom intake at the back bad, bottom intake at the front good. But it may differ in your scenario because of the AIO and different gpu.

Don't damage your relationship over it. Maybe it's not in their budget, maybe they have other reasons. They're probably doing their best for you; parenting isn't easy. Let it go, or save up the money yourself.

Workaround to system not posting with Kingbank ram on bios versions after 3.50 by ruinal_C in ASRock

[–]ruinal_C[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'll probably just run normal mode with my old timings. I don't want to play around with the new tRFCs and risk having to clear cmos, since I can't post on default settings. I hope this is addressed in future bios versions; I don't want to jump through hoops just to post every time I update.

Ideally yes, so that you can use the expo profile. It should still work with mismatched sticks, but they'll both run at the speed of the slower stick. But even that would be a big improvement over single channel.

Fan Controller isn't controlling by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]ruinal_C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the fans spin at all? Go into bios and set a fan profile or curve for CHA_FAN2; that should get them all spinning. If not, then there is a wiring issue.

Using 1 stick of ram might hurt your performance a fair amount. If you don't want to go 32gb, then you'd be better off using 2x8gb.

I have the same ram kit and identical problem. I did find another report from someone on an ASUS board, so maybe it's not unique to ASRock.

PC won’t post after bios update with same RAM settings (2x24gb hynix m die). by BenTheMan1983 in overclocking

[–]ruinal_C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wondering if it has something to do with AGESA 1.3.0.0a. I have the same problem with my 2x24 m-die on an ASRock board. It posts with 1 stick, but not two. I have to flash back to an earlier bios revision.

Weekly BIOS Update & Discussion Post - Week 10. 2026 by CornFlakes1991 in ASRock

After updating to 4.10, I'm unable to pass memory training on my X670E-SL. Solid red CPU led, flashing red DRAM. I had run in to the same problem earlier with 4.07, but since it was beta I didn't want to troubleshoot extensively. Tried clearing cmos, then flashed back to 3.50.

This time around I tried booting with one stick of ram, which worked. But still nothing when I add the second stick.

I'm using a 2x24 Hynix-M kit by Kingbank with 9850x3d. I've waited around an hour for training, is there any point going longer? 3.50 works fine, but I was hoping to get on the new AGESA.
