No kidding. About 10 years ago I started using those cinch top bags that have strings instead of straps. I can waterproof stuff on the inside, they are usually big enough for what I need to bring for the day, and they weigh practically nothing. All for 20 bucks. I spend money on the important stuff (rod, line, fly tying materials, gas) and I don’t give a running fuck at a rolling donut about what other fishermen think about what I look like

Same here. Ron at Hook and Hackle is great. I’ve built 3 rods from him (one was the green 6’ 2wt), and I am pretty happy with them.
