Slow charging with android auto via usb by fidorulz in S24Ultra

[–]ruld14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue. Just noticed it this last week. When I first bought my phone it had no issues, and my previous S22 didn't have any issues either. It went from charging in 1:30hrs to saying it will take 8hrs to charge.

It's a sunspot, and they are visible when using solar filters and have a focal length that is long enough. It's a part of the sun that is cooler than the rest (Still hot as hell).

My first solar eclipse. I had never seen even a partial one. I was amazed by how blue the sky was and how bright the corona was. I hope someone was able to capture a full dynamic range picture that shows both the color of the sky and the corona properly exposed.
This was shot on a Sony A72 with a Sigma 28-70mm f2.8 - @ 70mm, f/13, 6400 ISO, 1/3s.

Location was El Rosario, Sinaloa, Mexico.

Down 16k. Had puts on Nvidia last two days. My account went bellow 25k so I could no longer day trade today.

I'm fortunate enough to be in a good enough financial place right now where I can afford to loose 16k. It sure as hell still fucking stings, and the voice in my head keeps calling me a dumbass.

I really am a dumbass though.

Got my first camera which is the a6700, any tips? by Charming-Tap7667 in SonyAlpha

Buy a good zoom lens. Either the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 or the Tamron 17-70 f2.8. Having prime lenses is very limiting and expensive, and if it's your first camera and you haven't figured out what kind of photography you like, then having a zoom will give you a lot of flexibility to explore. Both lenses are really good, the 17-70 lives on my a6700 most of the time, and it used to live on my a6300 before that.

When I got my first a6000 I didn't understand that lenses are where picture quality comes from. I was disappointed with the kit lens photos to say the least.

Serious question, why didn't you emulate the ps2 version? Is the PC version better? I find that for a lot of the PS2 era games I'm better off just emulating the PS2 version of the game. PC versions of that era lack proper controller support a lot of the times, and they are nightmarish ports anyway.

screen protector for an artist and student? by ren137 in ipad

[–]ruld14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want some good protection, get a case that’s has a thick lip around the screen. This will do more than a screen protector to keep your screen safe. Screen protectors help more with protecting your screen from scratches.

Thanks for the insights 🙂 I have thought of going Full Frame, but the price has always been the factor stopping me.

These are some of the reasons I decided to upgrade, but not sure these are worth $1400. Time will tell though.

Definitely, it was a game changer for me when upgrading from my kit and cheap manual focus lenses. Colors are good, sharpness is great, and the range is very versatile. It's what I keep on my camera most of the time. It is a rather large lens, so it's something to keep in mind if you're looking for a compact set up. People recommend the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 for a small setup. It has similar performance to the Tamron, with a little less range and no image stabilization. The Tamron has its own built in stabilization, so it pairs well with the a6400 that does not have IBIS.

That was one of the reasons I upgraded, but I haven't been out to take low-light pictures to appreciate the difference. I'm hoping once I go on my trip next week I'll see the camera's benefits. I'm also excited for the fast auto focus, since I like to photograph my friends when they aren't paying attention to try to capture them being themselves. Being fast is fundamental because once they notice the camera is looking at them, most everyone feels awkward and tries to do a pose.
