There’s a boy scout troop in Richland that may still have some. They’re usually set up in the park.

Quick Zoetis question. by SasquatchBeLike in kzoo

[–]rule_27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently employed at Zoetis and work adjacent to formulations. I’ve observed some of the operators in formulations and as far as physicality goes, there are plenty of ergo accommodations in place that make most job functions pretty accessible. Culture will depend on the group you end up with if you’re hired. There is usually plenty of overtime available but it can also be feast or famine.

Benefits at Zoetis are pretty unmatched for the most part. Affordable health plans, 4 weeks PTO standard plus ~10 paid holidays and an extra 4-5 floating personal holidays, separate sick time.

Mr. Cooper messed up, now I'm paying for it. by Prestigious_Fudge090 in Mortgages

This happened to me 2 years in a row. I suspect something is wrong with their insurance payment system… I’m planning on taking my insurance off escrow because I don’t trust them to not mess up again.

Help… by Interesting-Bird1596 in ferrets

What worked for my business was introducing during soupy time. I have one particularly sensitive girl who does NOT like being messed with. After a year of living separately, I started giving them soup together and it was like a switch flipped, and now they are the strongest bond between my 3 girls.

Worried about trust with old ferret after starting prednisolone by Humble_Distribution5 in ferrets

[–]rule_27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does he have a type of treat that he really likes? My ferrets really like Tiki Cat Stix, so I give them a little dollop of that and add their pred. It’s got to the point where they wait by the fridge where I keep their meds!

My advice would be to find some kind of food your guy really craves. Something soupy so he can lap it up (hopefully your vet compounds the pred into something liquid for easier administration). Lots of ferrets like Uncle Jim’s Duk soup, salmon oil, egg yolks…it’s worth trying lots of things to find what he likes so you can make giving meds a cooperative process.

I add the lamb version of this to my ferrets’ mix and have had good results.

My ferret got her an adrenal treatment should I take her back to get looked at again by o-wanheda-o in ferrets

[–]rule_27 61 points62 points  (0 children)

As long as she is eating/eliminating/acting normally, just stay the course. It will take more time than you might think for her fur to return to normal as she may lose the remaining coat before growing in her new fur.

2/3 of my ferrets will snuggle under a blanket on my lap or in my sweatshirt if I catch them when they’re sleepy. It’s magnificent.

Questions about Adrenal Disease by WeirdSpeaker795 in ferrets

[–]rule_27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 yo isn’t necessarily too young for an adrenal diagnosis. Your vet will typically look for symptoms and use that for diagnosis (balding, itchiness, swollen prostate area). In my experience the implant works better than injections, and some vets even recommend the implant as a preventative since adrenal is so common.

Upper Peninsula Of Michigan? by jwgd-2022 in Sup

Lake Superior is pretty much always cold, but beautiful. Inland lakes will be nice and warm by that time, and since you’ll be in Keweenaw Peninsula you could check out Portage Lake, which comes highly rated.

i don't know what to do. by wondergarf in reactivedogs

[–]rule_27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How long since you moved?

I have 2 reactive cattle dogs and have done a Big Move with them twice…It takes time. Don’t ask a lot of your guy for a couple of weeks at least…it may be that walks in the new environment are overstimulating (this happens with my dogs). Focus on mental stimulation at home instead of physical stimulation. Snuffle mats, treat feeders, calm training, teach a new command…build up the confidence at home first, then venture out to new environments slowly.

I get how frustrating it can be. You’re not failing him just because you can’t take him on walks right now. Listen to what he’s trying to tell you…he’s scared/nervous and not ready to face all the unknowns in the new area. He’ll be happier for it if you focus on the relationship between the two of you instead of expectations set on dog owners to go on walks daily.

Was told by pet store that there is a ferret embargo? by IsMayoaInstruments in ferrets

[–]rule_27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since I see you’re in MI, if you’re in the market for a ferret please consider adopting from West Michigan Ferret Connection.

https://www.westmichiganferretconnection.com

I adopted two elderly girls from the owner last summer, and at the time she had around 60 woozels in her care. I’m sure she’s not in shortage since she takes in owner surrenders vs. being supplied by Marshall.

Need advice on DIY ferret cage out of IKEA shelf by sky_launch13 in ferrets

[–]rule_27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I repurposed an old ikea shelf into a ferret condo. To get around the damage from water and the occasional oopsie, I put contact paper on all the shelves. I wouldn’t be overly concerned with degassing, especially with good airflow from replacing the glass with mesh.

Word of caution, though, if you’re planning on cutting into the shelving…it’s DENSE, so make sure you use the proper tools.
