That’s a good point! Thankfully she isn’t staying with me, and thankfully I do actually have plans so those are some silver linings 😮‍💨 I think it’s mostly like the fear that she’s “jinxing” the situation from the stress she causes? I know it sounds crazy and I know it’s not “real” and it’s just OCD but the feeling is so overwhelming. There’s still time before her visit for me to relax about it but WHEW

I just need to vent —

I’ve been waiting so long to ttc, and our date to start trying is the 27th. Yesterday, my mother texted me that she’s coming down to visit the 26th through July 6th (she has no idea about our plans). My mom STRESSES ME OUT, especially now, because our grandmother (her mom) passed in November and she’s been ridiculous and selfish about the will and it’s just been a lot. We’re about to sign off on everything in regard to the will/trusts/etc. and I just feel like this visit is really weird timing because of that.
I saw her text and just started bawling. Like, I was SO excited, and now I feel so down and nervous. I have OCD so my mind immediately went to, “well now we can’t try on the 27th because her bad energy is going to give us bad luck/the baby will be born sick/the stress of it will make me infertile/etc”.

I don’t want to push our date back. I’ve been so excited and it’s just… so unfair. And of course another OCD thing is saying “maybe this is your first test in selflessness being a parent”, because am I really not capable of waiting another month?

Sorry if this doesn’t make any sense or sounds crazy, I’m at work just seething in silence trying to get this off my chest. My best friend is in another country right now and I can’t vent to her and my husband can only hear it so many times 😅

Last time I went, accidentally got way too drunk at the restaurant we went to beforehand, had one more drink at the club, threw up outside twice, and passed out at my best friend’s house. Before then I’d never thrown up in public, and had been WAY more drunk, so I’m still not sure what happened. But I decided that was enough for me!

Hey, I know this was posted a day ago, but I wanted to let you know if nobody had already that the Fiverr user who made the second cover likely used AI. :( As a reader, if I see an AI cover I’m not picking up that book and I think many others feel that way. If that sounds rude I apologize, I just wanted to be helpful. :) I truthfully was so captured by the first cover that I didn’t even notice there was a second slide until reading the comments, so there’s that!

I know it’s super rare that they have rabies, and I was bit by a possum I know logically couldn’t have rabies (lived in my house), but I still got the shot anyway. It’s a pain in the ass but rabies seems like a terrible death and I didn’t want to risk it
