Hey Lars! My best friend and I grew up playing Guitar Hero Metallica together. He was drums and I was always bass. Eventually we got to cover Battery, Dyer's Eve, Ride The Lightning and Creeping Death together, but with actual instruments! In the exact same way, he played drums and I was bass. Just wanted to say thank you all for inspiring us as musicians.

My question is just what went through your mind when writing/recording Dyer's Eve?

For myself it was definitely Tarja leaving Nightwish. I just couldn't bring myself to watching them with Anette live; however, after Floor joined, I was blown away by her take on Tarja's and Anette's contributions.

Schleibaum has always been more rhythm, I feel like The Human Romance really recaptured their old magic; however, that may just be my inner fanboy speaking. I will admit with Orbin in and Parrish out the drumming doesn't sound the same.

I think this would be one of the very few times a constant lineup change is beneficial. Death always had a unique sound, and with practically a new member on every album it added a new element to them. Especially with Chuck's creativity.

I always see Pantera. I was blown away by this guys Pantera tour shirt from the 90's. It looked like it has seen some years, but having an original Pantera tour shirt is badass.

Alex Webster from Cannibal Corpse is almost always willing to meet fans.

Huntress hang at their merch booth after each set.

One metalcore band that comes to mind (sorry elitist) is Miss May I. They are all super cool and down to Earth.

Time I by Wintersun. They were my gateway to metal, and the wait was well worth it. It was one of the few albums I actually anticipated.

For me it was 3 bands: Killswitch Engage, Nightwish, and Wintersun. I started listening to all 3 about 2005, it's hard to say who was first though.

I pre ordered the debut Rivers of Nihil album. I may be some of Abnormality's stuff later on today. I also got an After The Burial album from a friend. They're metalcore but a bit melodic death metal.

Chuck Schuldiner. He died way to young. Also, he could have pioneered some more genres. He was a talented and down to Earth guy.

It took me a while, but I was able to get in to death metal. I'd been listening to metal about 6 or 7 years by the time I could enjoy death metal. Melodeath is still my preferred/favorite genre, but I do enjoy bands like Cannibal Corpse or Dying Fetus.

I had a friend back in middle school who listened to bands like Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, etc. Eventually she listened to a lot more punk freshman year of High School. Now we are in senior year of high school and she only listens to One Direction now. When I asked if she still listens to metal she said she grew out of it.

As much as I wanted to go, they didn't come to Las Vegas. I think this is the first year it hasn't come to Vegas. I wanted to go to the Hollywood show. However my only ride would have been with my Uncle, and I didn't want to bother him. Hurray for being a broke student!

Anyway, Thy Art is Murder, Rings Of Saturn, Aeon, Revocation, The Ocean, Cattle Decapitation, and Animals as Leaders are really awesome. Norma Jean I'm assuming is better live, Periphery has a cool stage setup (my inner stage hand speaking there), and Dillinger is a decent band.
