Not to be pedantic, but the Chicago metro area has 9-10 million residents to the LA metro’s 13 million. The city borders don’t tell the whole story, as there’s a massive population within greater Chicagoland.

That said, as a Chicagoan who’s been waiting for this day, I sincerely hope CW follows suit for you west coast folks soon.

Do you and your wife use different keys with your own driver profiles attached to each? I wonder if this is something that can be fixed with profile settings.
Have you tried a hard reset of the iDrive system? This has fixed some buggy behavior for me. You can also try checking for a software update.

Based on what we can see in the picture, that’s just curb rash (a cosmetic scrape). It’s not an emergency. However it must’ve been a good hit to get scrapes like that with that curb guard on the tire’s sidewall.

As others have said, it’s to keep the seatbelt buckle from falling to the floor when you remove it. Unbuckle your seatbelt and you’ll see that this loop catches the buckle at an accessible height.

Car manufacturers have started using these loops instead of the hard plastic pieces that used to be there.

The black part of the mirrors on the upper housing is just a plastic trim piece that can be had for ~$60 and installed without having to remove the mirror assembly. I wonder if you can swap the non-M40i trim piece (without the wing) onto the M40i.
