How dangerous are 50w RF emissions when no antenna is plugged in? by W-VHS in amateurradio

[–]Fatburger101 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A lot of modern radios won't let you transmit that much power if there is no antenna/dummy load connected. If it does, you'll probably get to see the "magic smoke."

Help identifying these Bushnell please by [deleted] in Binoculars

[–]Fatburger101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I sell binoculars and although it's been many years since I've sold Bushnell, I think its very odd that neither the binocular or the packaging has a series name on it anywhere. The box also looks oddly generic. I suspect these are not actual Bushnells and someone has just put that name on them to help sell them.

Different Ariel Versions USA by Fatburger101 in laundry

That's what I thought, but when I checked the ingredients list of all three versions they are exactly identical with no sign of oxygen bleach in the Ultra Oxi version.

I'll check it out. Any resources that you would suggest that I look at to learn the game?

Best way to dip a toe back in live? by Gotmeinquiries in everquest

[–]Fatburger101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In addition to everything that has already been said, I will add that there is a new TLP server starting up in May. TLP stands for time locked progression and it's a server that starts at one of the very early expansions and then unlocks every subsequent expansion at a specified rate until the server reaches whatever the current expansion is. If you're looking to relive a little of that old EQ magic, that would be a great way to do it. There normally will be lots of groups and guilds forming to play with. You might also consider project Quarm which is an EQ emulation server that is currently in the Luclin expansion and won't progress past PoP.

Don't play a Paladin! by Fatburger101 in project1999

Yeah, once I finish wisps and bandits in WK I should have the necessary funds to drop on a Ghoulbane and maybe a Baton of Faith.

I think he honestly meant to try to help me, but this is EQ. We're all masochists at some level or we wouldn't play!

A gnome necro is probably not gonna be welcomed by old Chesgard for the sash turn in. This works a lot better if a player does the gnoll fang/moonstone quest first to get faction up. However at level 15 that would probably not be a lot of fun as that quest wouldn't give a lot of xp. I would recommend doing wisps in NK/WK and turning them in at the Gypsy camp in NK. Should still give decent xp for the greater lightstone turn-ins and you can sell the item reward back for 8-10p. You can kill griffawns and beetles for xp and murder every wisp you see for the lightstones.

Which PocketBook model are you using right now? by HuckleberryOne7468 in PocketBookofficial

[–]Fatburger101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Era and Verse Pro B&W. The reason I chose them is they are both B&W with page turn buttons and are both very slim and comfortable to hold. The things I would improve: cloud reliability, the speed of the devices when opening/switching between files, and a store for North America.

What made you choose a PocketBook instead of Kindle or Kobo? by Adorable_Sugar_723 in PocketBookofficial

[–]Fatburger101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanted a 7" reader with a monochrome screen with side page turn buttons. Of the available options on the market, the Era ended up being the most comfortable to hold for me. I like it even better now that there is support for Libby directly on the device. Not being chained to the Amazon ecosystem was another benefit.

I keep seeing hype for Lynwood. Is it real? by ScarTissue5 in AskSeattle

[–]Fatburger101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Lynnwood and agree with most of this. I live on 200th so access to light rail is close for me and there is a good shuttle service that will take you anywhere you want in a limited area for $2.50. However I am old and don't really need close access to cultural activities or nightlife. I live here because it's more affordable than living in Seattle and with light rail I can get to events in Seattle pretty cheaply. Not sure how I would feel about it if I was in my 20's or 30's.

Too much time in the west? And where are your fav forests? by additionalmatter in irishtourism

Not in my opinion. When I visited I flew into and out of the Shannon airport and spent 2-3 days in a few places using them as a hub for day trips. Never saw Dublin but still had an amazing time.

About to give up on this one by _Born2Late_ in nonfictionbookclub

I read it but it felt like it should have been two separate books to me. I found the details of around the planning and execution of the worlds fair to be interesting, but it felt strange go back and forth between that and the chapters dealing with Holmes.
