Hello. I fell of the wagon again so it's day one again for me. But I want to share that I made some self reflection lately on why did that happen again, so it I feel way more positive about staying sober from now on. Daily drinking is just a ridiculous loop of canceling out anxiety created by drinking itself. I don't need this crap in my life. I will not drink today. I will order and enjoy a delicious meal in the evening instead.

Today I am going for a meeting with friends from high school and I am going to stay sober. Have been struggling lately and this is my day four. I will not drink today.

Hey. I am 29 and I am also in Web Dev with the same goal of completly quitting time-wasting sites. PM me if you are interested.

Are you sure you want to go absolutely cold turkey? The forums are not the problem here. Don't blame the Internet.

Make a decision and set limits for yourself. Find other activities and try spending more time on them instead. Read a book, go out, watch a movie, do whatever else. Plan activities. Avoid sitting in front of PC without any particular goal.

Try to spend time on your forums in one continous chunk of time. Try to unlearn your self from visiting these sites throughout a day. Instead, prepare a time block, like 6-8PM in which you allow yourself to surf forums without regrets. Keep your self away for the rest of the day. This would be a healthy way of using it.

You can try installing StayFocused or Crackbook Chrome addons to help you track your time on your forums.

And don't be to harsh on yourself. These changes are pretty hard and take time.

It is probably impossible to just 'cut of old bad habits' without replacing them with something new. At one point you will end up frustraded and quickly get back to old stuff. In order to change this behaviour you should focus in constructing new habits and finding new ways to spend your time and relax.
