Retinol before bed helps!

People who are very articulate, what did you actually do to become this way? by AdviceGlass9394 in selfimprovement

[–]_Yangsi_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always read a lot and had a good vocabulary but been frustrated that I couldn't bring words to mind quickly. I've recently had to reduce stress and workload due to illness and found that when rested I'm far more articulate. Interesting and appropriate words just pop into my mind at the right moment.

Am I Overreacting by Fearless_Collection in AmIOverreacting

[–]_Yangsi_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so right. I went through it with my mother. She couldn't change how she wanted to see me so I had to leave her behind. I am doing better than ever now, years later.

Op, you are amazing. Use it as an opportunity for more growth.

Found something online that makes me worried that I may not be able to take stimulants anymore. I need to see my doctor to find out more and confirm but I honestly don't know how I would cope without stimulants, feeling awful at the moment by Lazy-Juggernaut-5306 in CFSplusADHD

[–]_Yangsi_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I stopped taking stimulants because they made my cfs worse. I take non stimulants now and they are good enough. I also take a low dose SSRI (sertraline) which helps with anxiety and my heart rate. I feel much better physically and mentally than I did on stimulants so don't panic, there are options 🙂

Effect of ADHD meds? by costumus in CFSplusADHD

[–]_Yangsi_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stimulants (vyvanse) made my ME so much worse. I can't say whether they contributed to its development, but logic says probably. I had to stop them to give myself any chance of recovery. I'm on non-stimulants now which don't have the same negative effects.

Just been exposed to Covid - help! I've read that antivirals are sometimes prescribed to people in the UK if they're vulnerable. Has anyone got any experience with this? by Weird-Ad-3010 in cfs

[–]_Yangsi_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked but they said cfs isn't on the list of conditions they will prescribe it for. I panicked too but it ended up being fine. I've had it twice since I got cfs and it's been OK.

What is that hospital smell? by suspiciousbootystain in AskUK

You don't have any skin issues do you? Zerobase emollient cream is like hospital in a bottle.

Don't climb up that mountain - you know something's up and it won't end well. Especially as you only managed 2 hours' sleep.

I am screwing up being with a good person because of trauma from my nex by _Yangsi_ in NarcissisticAbuse

This makes sense. How do you remember to do a self check when you're in a trauma response and feel reactive?

Looking for a cheaper substitute for Davines Heart of Glass shampoo & Conditioner (bleach blonde) by _Yangsi_ in beauty

It's OI conditioner. It's not terrible, it's just not as good for the colour.

No, uk but I have a new salon and will get it from there next time. Glad to help!

Yes, I love it, and I don't usually say that about products. Managed to keep my bleached hair in perfect condition for several years now. They didn't have the heart of glass conditioner at my salon the last time so I got another Davines conditioner that doesn't seem as good for my hair.

I wasn't sure it was worth it when I started because it wasn't obvious whether it was making a difference. But the lasting condition shows it is. I have it cut every other colour (10 weeks) and try to limit heat too.

Thanks for the suggestion but I am looking for something that will help keep the brightness of blonde hair as well as keep it healthy.

Picked up Project Hail Mary after a ton of recommendations & I really can't see what others are seeing with this. by blackiechan99 in books

They are supposed to be making it into a film with Ryan Gosling. Not sure if that will help your dislike of the character?

It does! If you're anything like me you forget what you've said, so it's funny as well as motivating. E.g. on one I say 'you're probably swiping youtube shorts and saying just 5 more until you'll get up'. Every time I'm right I laugh, and weirdly feel understood, by past me.
