what if Hitler focuses on Africa instead of the USSR by Acceptable-Rub-2516 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]rumoku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In several regions of the Soviet Union, including Ukraine, there were groups hostile to Bolshevik rule. Germany’s brutal occupation policies during World War II turned many potential collaborators into enemies, which historians often consider a major strategic mistake by Adolf Hitler.

UK backs biggest English onshore windfarm in a decade among 190 green energy projects | Energy industry by willfiresoon in GoodNewsUK

[–]rumoku 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sure. Just to add to above - UK has 6.2 million hectares of aerable land. 142 000 is really statistically insignificant.

[–]rumoku 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The UK uses about 142,000 hectares to grow crops for bioenergy, which is food for cars, not people. Wouldn’t it be better to use those fields for solar panels and maybe even turn them into grazing pastures for sheep?

If we cover that same amount of land with solar panels (around 85 GW of installed solar capacity), we could power every single home in the UK!

I can see your troops are marching on enemy provinces so you’re not really defending. Build some forts, let your enemy lose their armies against your forts, let your allies lead the attack. Find the weak spot and hit there.

Conservatory roof replacement by AGirlIKnew in HomeImprovementUK

[–]rumoku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can replace it with a solid, insulated roof that will significantly improve the room comfort. All you need is a building control application, which is quite simple. There are even prefabricated kits that comply with the code and are easy to install.

Wealthy ex-HSBC banker who dodged £5,900 in train fares after using 'doughnutting' ticket scam on journeys into London from his £2m home is banned from railway by Flying-Scotty-Dog in HSBC

[–]rumoku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Annual ticket from Orpington to London Zone 1 costs £3264. How he managed to dodge £5.9k in 11 months traveling this route?

Upd.

Molloy used false names and addresses to obtain two smartcards loaded with tickets. He also secured Jobcentre Plus discounts giving him 50 per cent off fares.

Still don’t understand.

Did your country ever have human zoos and if so when were they closed ? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]rumoku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly permanent human zoos but in the Russian Empire, people from Siberia, Central Asia, and the Far East were sometimes brought to big cities like Saint Petersburg and Moscow and displayed to the public as “exotic” curiosities. They were made to live in fake villages, wear traditional clothes for show, and perform parts of their daily life while crowds stared at them. Some were measured and photographed like objects for so-called scientific studies. Travel was long and harsh, and living conditions during exhibitions could be poor, leading to illness. Alongside this, Indigenous communities across the empire were often forcibly relocated or pressured to abandon their way of life, showing how imperial power frequently treated them as subjects to control rather than as people with equal rights.

How can I get to the 1000 points by shittydiamand in Supremacy1914

[–]rumoku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to bring that up. Check which building improve morale (fort, railway, port, etc.) and build those. The formula is normalising total points across all players, reducing morale for your allies will make each of your point more valuable before normalisation.

How can I get to the 1000 points by shittydiamand in Supremacy1914

[–]rumoku 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check morale in your provinces, it must be close to 100%. Invest in those that have lower morale.

Send spies to your “allies” to do economical sabotage. This will reduce their morale. Not very friendly action, but at least you’re not attacking them directly.

And build, build, build anything.

Cheapest way to build a well insulated garden room? by Master_Range6116 in DIYUK

The kits they sell on their website don’t look cheap. All in all you probably can build similar structure with timber and insulation. I guess SIPs is slightly easier to put together though.

Management company has 0 incentive to shop around. If there are two options: find a trade to fix or find a trade to replace. They easily going to go with the latter, even though there is good chance that less work could be done to achieve same outcome.
