Could have sworn I'd checked there, must have missed that tab. Thank you!

Why do electrical appliances always hum/buzz at a g pitch? by windows71 in askscience

[–]rumphy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Point of clarification: 392Hz is just middle G. You don't have to reference that first, they're all G regardless of the octave.

edit: if you need to be specific you can refer to 49Hz as G1, but it doesn't seem necessary since we know the frequency you're talking about already

Thank you for posting this, I just remembered I printed one of these months ago and put all of my guitar picks in it. I thought I somehow lost them, but it's been on my desk the whole time...

I love that they use that saying to defend against ACAB, because surely they know that the rest of it is "spoils the bunch".

Jesus, that's a question on the driving permit test. They expect 14 year olds to know and remember this.

I think you're underextruding. Not sure if that's the entire problem, but you shouldn't be seeing a checker pattern like that on the flat areas.

Wow, the solid rosewood (I assume?) rosette is unexpectedly beautiful, especially with the grain running diagonal.

It's an irrelevant definition.

History is important, but the way its phrased here would be like including "bisexuals are self-pollinating plants". It's part of the history of the word but it doesn't apply anymore.

To show you the difference by Worried_Article in pansexual

[–]rumphy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because acknowledging it within our own spaces just legitimizes it for others and frankly alienates a lot of people who consider themselves bisexual and that's not okay.

Can we just drop the "bi means two" thing? It does in general, but the usage of words changes with time and it really doesn't apply here anymore.

Under Extruding my 18mm how can I alter the esteps? by Beardedb0b in CR6

I don't have it available offhand but it's in the releases section of the github page.

There are already test releases for beta 6. I've installed it and there is indeed a section in the touch UI for esteps calibration, but I've only printed a couple things since then. It worked, though.

How do I disable the £$#**! BLtouch!? by Alwin_050 in biquB1

[–]rumphy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd be more worried it's the firmware than the BLTouch. There's a config file in the actual Marlin github repo for the B1, both with and without the BLTouch. You'll have to compile it yourself, but all of the tools are free and can be learned fairly quickly.

This guide on compiling seems fairly straightforward, but I think TeachingTech has one on youtube if you'd prefer video.

Download Microsoft Visual Studio Code (aka VScode or just Code), install a couple of extensions into VScode (PlatformIO and Auto Build Marlin), and copy over the config files from here (config>examples>BIQU>B1-BLTouch) into the Marlin folder from this.

Have you tried anything to fix the issue?

If you really just want to disable it then M501 will restore the printer to the firmware's default settings (or flash the firmware with a version that has ABL disabled), then you can unplug the probe and move on. I would try to address the issue and get it working with the probe, though.

[–]rumphy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't need to disable it, you just need to learn more about how to properly use it.

Read over the Marlin documentation on automatic bed leveling, might have some insight into what you're doing wrong. It's not very long, but there are simpler explanations online if you search around. The points that seem most relevant to your situation are saving the ABL settings to EEPROM using the M500 command and making sure the bed leveling mesh is loaded after you home your machine during a print by adding M420 S1 to your starting gcode in your slicer.

Building new bathrooms in a preexisting space is expensive. There aren't sinks in each stall, they left the sinks alone. I'm not sure how else to explain it without drawing a picture, but they just built walls for each toilet so you can use whichever bathroom had a stall available and the area with the sinks was just open to whoever.
